‘GMA’ Sam Champion Breaks Silence About Personal Suffering
Good Morning America meteorologist Sam Champion is making remarkable progress during his time on Dancing With The Stars. He and his partner Cheryl Burke have managed to stay out of the bottom two both weeks. Their scores tend to hover around the middle of the pack, but they are improving.
However, Sam recently had some concerning news to share with his followers. He and Cheryl are practicing for James Bond Night right now, but it appears that the meteorologist is injured. Keep reading to see what he had to say.
Sam Champion is in a lot of pain ahead of week three
Sam Champion loves his time in the ballroom. However, the weatherman does feel like his age might be catching up to him. He just turned 61 years old and his body admittedly isn’t what it used to be. Dancing With The Stars is nearing its third week of the competition. And Sam Champion is really feeling the burn.
“Oooof. Bad night. Sending love to #florida as #Ian departs! Nerve pain put me in bed last night in my left leg… but hope to be back up today ❤️” Sam captioned his Instagram video.
In the video, he went on to reveal that the Viennese Waltz from Elvis Night was really stressful on his body.
“It’s hard, and my body really is not conditioned to try this yet,” the 61-year-old claimed. “So, I had a lot of nerve pain yesterday and the day before. Had a lot of pain in my left leg, and that was kind of a brutal night to get through last night.”
He said that rehearsals had been challenging, but he and Cheryl are still working hard and are trying to do everything in their power to he can perform. Sam said he plans on attending physical therapy, putting heat on the injury, and doing anything else he can think of.
Fans hope that Sam Champion will be well enough to perform on Monday night. It would be truly heartbreaking if he had to drop out.
The GMA weatherman has a lot of love and support
The meteorologist may be in a lot of pain, but his castmates are happy to rally around him. His Instagram video received lots of positive comments and well-wishes from fans and co-stars.
