Peta Murgatroyd Shows ‘DWTS’ Resetting Stage, No Commercials
Pro dancer Peta Murgatroyd was delighted for the chance to return to DWTS this year. Sadly, she and her partner Jason Lewis ended up being the first to leave the competition. Although their run on the show was short, fans felt excited to see Peta make her grand return to the ballroom after her year of heartache.
This year, there are no commercial breaks on DWTS. This means that crews have a very short window to reset the stage while the camera is on other performers. Peta Murgatroyd recently gave fans a sneak peek to see how it all played out. Keep reading to see for yourself.
Peta Murgatroyd shows fans what goes on behind the scenes
Australian dancer Peta Murgatroyd was so excited about Dancing With The Stars this year and even said it helped her heal from her emotional wounds.
“So much has been going on in the past year and a half with Maks and myself and our family,” Peta spoke with journalists at a DWTS press conference. “Maks was in Ukraine with the war and then me with constant miscarriages, and now one failed [round of] IVF.”
She went on to say that competing on DWTS helped her take her mind off the tough situation at home. Peta and Jason Lewis might be out of the competition, but they’ll probably still be in the audience. The pro dancer may even perform some filler routines with the troupe.
But for now, the 36-year-old dancer is content to show fans what’s really going on behind the scenes. The cameras only show fans a small part of the ballroom.
“Guys this is what happens when there’s no commercials anymore…” Peta posted on her Intsagram stories. “55 seconds…”
She added a video of the show’s crew members frantically popping balloons and sweeping the scraps out of the way to clean up for the next performers.
Can you believe that the clean-up crew has less than a minute to get everything cleared away? Leave your thoughts and ideas in the comments below.
