NBC’s ‘Chicago Fire’ Filming Hits A Snag After A Scary Incident
NBC’s American drama TV series Chicago Fire recently hit a snag after a dangerous incident that happened near the filming location. Season 10 wrapped on May 25, 2022, and was renewed for Season 11 which is currently under production. Created by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas, the series premiered on October 10, 2012, and has been a fan favorite ever since. Chicago Fire Season 11 Production On Halt After Shooting Incident
However, on Wednesday, the series halted filming for Season 11 after a gunman opened fire at a group of people near the production sets. As per Meaww, no individuals from the production team were injured or in the line of shooting. After the incident, the makers haven’t yet confirmed when the filming for the series will resume. The incident is currently being investigated by authorities.

As per the statement released by the Chicago PD, “the gunman was unidentified and was seen carrying a handgun. The suspect shot a group of people standing in the 5900 block of W. Madison Street at approximately 1:45 p.m. local time & later fled in a dark-colored SUV (yet to be identified as well).”
Additionally, a source close to the Chicago Fire production mentioned that the suspension of the filming was confirmed right after the shooting happened. Plus, the production immediately entered the standard security protocols.
Chicago Fire Production Hits A Snag The Third Time
However, some reports provide conflicting information stating that a stray bullet did hit a part of the camera equipment. Later on, the claims were snubbed stating that the production process was shut down adhering to the safety protocols.

This isn’t the first time a risky incident happened with the Chicago Fire team. Earlier, it was reported that a stray bullet hit the crew’s trailer. Next, in August, a random person lit an object and threw it at the crew creating chaos in the scene. However, no causalities were reported.
When Will Season 11 Premiere On NBC?
Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 1 titled ‘Hold On Tight’ is slated to premiere on September 21 at 9/8c on NBC. As to what the upcoming season entails, there has been no synopsis provided by the network yet. However, there is a broader logline that reads, “This edge-of-your-seat ride is a look into the professional and personal lives of the firefighters and paramedics of Firehouse 51 as they risk their lives every day to save and protect the citizens of Chicago.”
