Why do fans want this Today Show host fired?

Today is September 11, 2022. Fans were hoping to see a tribute on the Today Show. They were disappointed when host Willie Geist shared an interview with supermodel Gigi Hadid. He received backlash from fans for his frivolous news report.

The 47-year-old interviewed the model in time for New York Fashion Week. Gigi is debuting her new clothing line. The Today Show took to the official Twitter account to share a photo of the two talking on the streets of NYC. Willie wore a navy blue suit with a light button-up shirt underneath.

Meanwhile, Gigi wore a daring orange cardigan, which she opted to go braless under. She paired the look with khaki cargo pants and gold necklaces. The two discussed her new clothing amid the 9/11 remembrance. Most of the fans were disappointed with Willie and asked for him to be fired from the show.

Fans were hoping to see something of importance for today. They trashed the anchor for not taking the day more seriously. Here are just some of the comments:

“What made the SUNDAY TODAY 9/11/22 show run a piece on Gigi Hadid????!!!! I guess nothing says ‘remembrance’ of one of the most significant events in US history like Ms. Hadid’s views of cashmere shorts. Great call, whoever decided this was a good idea,” one fan wrote in direct relation to the tweet.

“It’s so embarrassing! Whoever decided to run that segment should be fired, or Willie himself even for agreeing to deliver it,” another fan wrote.

The morning show makes a colossal mistake

The Today Show hosts were trashed once again. This time fans called them “uninformed” about the Royal Family. The fanbase is very serious when it comes to the British Royal Family. On Friday, September 9, King Charles III announced that his son William and Kate, previously known as the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge, would now become the Prince and Princess of Wales.

On Saturday morning, the weekend hosts referred to the Princess as “Kate Middleton.” The morning show shared a clip on Twitter with the caption: “King Charles III’s wife Camilla is officially queen consort. Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton is now Princess of Wales.”
