The ‘Quantum Leap’ Reboot Trailer Has Arrived
At one time, Quantum Leap was one of the most popular shows on television. Now, fans of the original will get to see a reboot of the series. Plus, the new trailer is here.
With so many great reboots in recent years, including Hawaii Five-O and Magnum P.I., here is a look at the new Quantum Leap trailer. Included is what fans can expect from the new rebooted series.
The New Quantum Leap trailer has arrived
A new Quantum Leap reboot is coming to NBC later this month, and the first trailer is here. For fans new to the show, Quantum Leap starred Scott Bakula (NCIS: New Orleans) as Dr. Sam Beckett. He stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and never returned. The show saw him leaping into various people’s bodies over time and correcting mistakes in the past.
Taking the lead this time around is Raymond Lee as physicist Ben Song, who is restarting the project three decades after Beckett disappeared. According to the synopsis, this will take place in the same world as Beckett existed in, so maybe he will finally get the ending fans felt he deserved.
Three decades after Dr. Sam Beckett first stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song, has been assembled to restart the project in hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it.
The Quantum Leap trailer shows Ben leaping into the body of a rock star in Los Angeles in 1986. It looks fun and should give new fans a chance to see what made Quantum Leap so popular. Check out the trailer here.

Everything you need to know about the Quantum Leap reboot
Raymond Lee stars as Ben Song, the physicist who will do the leaping this season. Television fans might know Lee as Sam from the 2021 AMC series Kevin Can F**k Himself. He also most recently appeared in Top Gun: Maverick as Lt. Logan “Yale” Lee. Joining Lee in the show is Caitlin Bassett as Addison, who is taking the place of Al as the AI that Ben speaks to while leaping.
Seen as the sixth season of the original show, there is also someone returning from the original series. Ernie Hudson (Ghostbusters) is Herbert “Magic” Williams, a career military man and the lead of the new Quantum Leap program. He is also the Vietnam War veteran that Sam leaped into in a season three episode “The Leap Home (Part 2) – Vietnam.”
The rest of the team includes Mason Alexander Park as Ian Wright, who runs the Artificial Intelligence unit “Ziggy,” and Nanrisa Lee as Jenn Chou, who heads up digital security for the project. Quantum Leap premieres on NBC on Monday, September 19.
