Former Counting On star Joy Forsyth got honest about her life as a mother and shared a beautiful sentiment with her followers. Keep reading to get all of the details and see what she had to say.
Joy has been pretty quiet on social media lately. She has been enjoying some time offline with her kids, but she recently returned to Instagram to catch up with fans. One of her first posts back is all about motherhood.
If you didn’t know, Joy and her husband, Austin Forsyth, currently share two kids, Gideon, 4, and Evelyn, 2. Sadly, in between Gideon’s and Evelyn’s births, she experienced a pregnancy loss halfway through her pregnancy. This was in the summer of 2019.
Though Joy tends to keep things lighthearted and positive on social media, she didn’t hesitate to open up about the tears she recently cried over motherhood and wanting to be the best she can possibly be for her children.
Joy Forsyth gets emotional & feels inadequate as a mom
On Instagram on Tuesday evening, Joy shared a couple of photos of her two-year-old daughter, Evelyn.
Along with posting the adorable photos, the mother of two wrote, “A few months ago I was crying to Austin, feeling inadequate to be the mother of my two beautiful children, and wanting to give them a happy childhood and praying they will know how much Jesus loves them.”
Then, Joy Forsyth admitted she feels like this every so often and has to “refocus.”
You can see the photos of Evelyn below.
Austin Forsyth offers words of encouragement
In her post, Joy Forsyth revealed that her husband was there to encourage her when she needed him most. Austin encouraged her to write down an encouraging quote about showing up and loving her kids rather than giving them the perfect life. You can read her full Instagram post, including the quote, below.
Duggar fans and critics quickly discovered that Austin didn’t write this quote himself. However, many are still loving the words he shared and the way he encouraged his wife.
In the comments section of Joy Forsyth’s post, fans are thanking her for showing this side of motherhood. Some are agreeing with her sentiments, while many others can relate to her.
