Hoda Kotb shared some personal news in the exclusive interview. The 58-year-old is back on the morning show after she took a break for her birthday. She’s also shared some cryptic posts on Instagram. In her new interview with People, Hoda talked about her life after her split from her ex-fiance.

The couple postponed their wedding several times during the pandemic. They ended up calling off their relationship in January. The Today host wants to focus on co-parenting their daughters Haley, five, and Hope, three. She opened up about the possibility of meeting someone new.

“You know how people say the older you get, the more you know who you are? I think someone who meets me now will meet me for real,” Hoda Kotb told People. “It’s definitely in the universe for me. I feel like whatever is meant to be is meant to be.”

The television personality also wants to adopt a third child. Every time she reads the news, Hoda says her heart breaks. She wants to invite as many children into her home as she can. Hoda’s main focus is for her and Joel to co-parent their two daughters before growing their family.

Hoda Kotb on the challenges of co-parenting

The two parents have found it a challenge to co-parent ever since their split. Hoda Kotb admitted that the biggest challenge is trying to come up with a schedule for making time with the kids.

“He’ll have a Saturday, and I’ll do the Sunday,” Hoda Kotb explained. “We switch each week. He’ll take the girls and do some fun things, and I’ll take some quiet time. It’s a healthy mix, and the kids love it. He’s a great dad.”

When it comes to the details of their split, she simply said that “perfectly nice people can go their separate ways.” However, she doesn’t have any “regrets” about their relationship ending. Hoda still feels that she and Joel were destined to become adoptive parents.
