Will ‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Introduce New Characters?
Netflix’s Stranger Things has enjoyed a huge success since its premiere on the streaming platform. Now that it is done with Season 4 amassing a fan following, the show’s creators chimed in on what’s in store for Season 5. This season is also slated to be the show’s final one, as confirmed by the makers. Given the series’ history of introducing new characters with each new season, fans wondered if Season 5 would follow suit.
Stranger Things Creators Resisting Introduction Of New Characters
However, the show’s creators Ross & Matt Duffer, shared details from the upcoming season while revealing if there is any possibility of introducing a new character. Stranger Things premiered in 2016, and the Duffer brothers are trying their best to wrap up the final season with the OG characters introduced in Season 1.

In a conversation with Indiewire, Matt Duffer revealed, “We’re doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5. We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters, I guess.”
Ross Duffer chimed in on the possibility of introducing new characters as he said, “Bringing new characters into the story has to give it the engine that is needed, though it can be nerve-wracking. Whenever we introduce a new character, we want to make sure that they’re going to be an integral part of the narrative.”

“We’ve got a great cast of characters here and actors, and any moment we’re spending with a new character, we’re taking time away from one of the other actors,” Ross continued.
