Big Changes At GAC Including New Great American Family Name
GAC Media and its two channels, GAC Family, and GAC Living are going to have a reset. In addition, the network whose CEO is former Hallmark CEO, Bill Abbott, will also add an app to their media offerings, as well as a new weekly feature. Ready for all of the changes?
GAC Family and Living Are Changing Their Names
There are some new changes to Candace Cameron Bure’s new network. The two networks will be called Great American Family, and Great American Living. This name change will start on Saturday, August 20.
According to Ad Weekly, this is the second name change in less than a year. Previously, the networks were called Great American Country, and Ride.
In addition, they will launch the Great American Community app, as well as their FAST channel, Great American adventures. The latter is a streaming channel.
Bill Abbott explained that the four brands together are under the newly named Great American Media umbrella.
As the company expands across different media verticals, renaming our linear networks Great American Family and Great American Living better reflects our vision for each brand and firmly aligns the company under our new Great American Media umbrella.
Fans can expect more of the same quality, family-friendly programming they have come to love from our channels, and we look forward to rolling out the new names this summer in time for the return of our original movie premieres.
Great American Family Launching New Movie Saturday Nights
In mid-July, GAC Media announced New Movie Saturday Nights. They will have a network premiere of a new movie every Saturday night from August 20 until Great American Christmas. That starts on Saturday, October 29.
The first New Movie Saturday Nights movie is Retreat to Paradise. This romance stars Melanie Stone (Little Women, Cupid for Christmas), Casey Elliott (An Hour Behind, Out of Liberty), and Brian Krause (Harmony In Paradise, Charmed). This will premiere on the network on Saturday, August 20, at 8 p.m., Eastern.
On Saturday, August 29, premiering at 8 p.m., Eastern, Great American Family will premiere Love In Bloom. This romance stars Susie Abromeit (Much Ado About Christmas, Jessica Jones), and Julian Haig (Riverdale, Five Bedrooms).

GAC Launching Great American Community
Sometime this fall, Great American Media is launching its Great American Community app. This app will feature over 200 hours of home, living, food, pets, crafts, and even a daily devotional.
Stars of the network, such as Jen Lilley, Jill Wagner, and Danica McKellar will be featured.
In addition, the former producer of Hallmark’s Home and Family, Tracy Verna, is overseeing the content. That also means some of those stars will have content on the app, including Debbie Matenopoulos, Cameron Mathison, Shirley Bovshow, Kym Douglas, and Lawrence Zarian.
