Chumlee Reveals Changes To New ‘Pawn Stars’ Episodes
Pawn Stars fans will soon see some changes to their favorite history show. Recently, Chumlee has revealed that they want to “spice things up” by mixing up the format in some upcoming episodes.
What do you think they are doing differently?
Pawn Stars Are Shaking Up Their Series
There is a big shake-up at the World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop. Everyone’s favorite reality series, Pawn Stars, is going to soon look a bit different.
It turns out that patriarch Rick Harrison, his son, Corey Harrison, and Corey’s childhood friend, Austin Lee (Chumlee) Russell have been hitting the road. That means that fans may not be seeing the familiar Las Vegas backdrop in future episodes.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, who spoke to Chumlee, they are doing this to keep people interested. It turns out that Rick, Corey, and Chum are hitting the road. They are meeting fans and checking out their interesting antiques and family heirlooms.
Not unlike Antiques Roadshow, they are going to places like Seattle, Denver, San Francisco, Savannah, and Austin. People are bringing their “treasures” to the trio, and they will give them an offer.
It really is different, because we’re out there hitting the pavement, and people are bringing in their treasures and seeing what we’ll offer them.
That means that the format is not that different from before. They are just not in Vegas doing the wheeling and dealing.
How This Format Is Not like Antiques Roadshow
Chumlee was quick to distinguish this version of Pawn Stars from the famed PBS series. He explained that the difference between the two shows was the price.
Antiques Roadshow just tells you the estimated value of an item. They’re giving you these super-high inflated values that you might get at an auction.
He further explained that they need to be able to sell the item afterward. Therefore, the price will not be so inflated.
We tell you what we can pay for it, knowing that we need to sell it.
Is This New Pawn Stars Format Permanent?
For those Pawn Stars purists who don’t want to lose that Vegas vibe, they don’t have to worry. Chumlee explained that this is something they are filming for between season episodes.
Moreover, the series will hit Episode 600 sometime in 2023. This is an incredible milestone. But meanwhile, Chum explained that they are mixing it up to keep it interesting.
We like to make sure that we’re doing whatever we can to keep people interested in the show, you know?
He also pointed out, “We’ve been at this a long time. We like to spice things up.”
Currently, this road series does not have a title. However, it will be out sometime in the fall.
