‘Hunter x Hunter’ Creator Gives Fans Huge News After 4yr Hiatus
Good news for Hunter x Hunter manga fans! Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of the series, has recently posted a promising update on his Twitter account. After a long wait, the manga series appears to be progressing smoothly.
Hunter x Hunter Manga Is Ready With Its Latest Draft
According to the tweet by the creator, he has successfully completed the drafts for ten chapters of the Hunter x Hunter manga. It was set to be produced in 2018, and now, all that is needed for the manga to be completed is the inking part.

Not just that, the manga creator also mentioned that the next ten chapters of the series are also in the works. This is great news for this shonen manga fans, especially given the long wait of four years. Although the series was announced in 2018, fans had been waiting for an update on the same.

At first, Togashi confirmed through his new Twitter account that the manga production is set to resume in May 2021.
Fans Question The Authenticity Of Yoshihiro Togashi’s Twitter Account
However, fans didn’t get any more updates on the same. Initially, fans were skeptical about the Twitter account and assumed it was a bot account or a hoax. Given the choice of screen name, @Un4v5s8bgsVk9Xp, it didn’t seem like an authentic profile. However, artist Yusuke Murata, who is also the creator of One-Punch man, later reassured fans that it surely belonged to his colleague Yoshihiro.
The authenticity of the Twitter account was also confirmed by a Weekly Shonen Jump representative. Currently, Yoshihiro Togashi’s Twitter account has more than 2.9 million followers and ranks among the most popular manga artists.
The manga’s current hiatus is the longest in the history of the series. However, it already had a reputation of being published in a sporadic pattern. This delay is because the manga is created by Yoshihiro all on his own without any help from assistants. However, he does get some help from his wife, Naoko Takeuchi, who is also a manga artist known for Sailor Moon.

In his recent interview, he also explained that the manga’s frequent & lengthy breaks are due to his constant chronic back issues. As per CBR.com, he also mentioned that the back pain, at times, becomes so severe that he even has issues using the bathroom.

Apart from creating Hunter x Hunter, Togashi also has Yu Yu Hakusho manga under his name. The manga ran in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1990 to 1994. Not just that, the manga and its anime adaptation are widely regarded as one of the highly influential manga series featuring shonen battle. It has been ranked alongside its renowned competitors such as Hirohiko Araki’s Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball.
Yu Yu Hakusho is also now being adapted as a live-action anime series that will premiere on Netflix. The streaming platform also recently revealed the first official images of its cast in costume. The 2011 anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter can also be streamed on Netflix & Crunchyroll.
