How Far Will Anna Duggar Have To Travel To See Husband, Josh?
If Anna Duggar wants to visit her husband, Josh, in prison, how far must she travel? After being sentenced in May, Josh is officially in federal prison. He’s serving a 12-year sentence after being convicted of child pornography charges.
He was previously in the Washington County Jail in Arkansas. Now, he’s quite a bit further away from his wife, parents, kids, and siblings. So, how far away is he?
While Josh was at the Washington County Jail, visitors weren’t permitted due to COVID restrictions. So, he had virtual visits with his family.
Josh Duggar begins his sentence in federal prison.
As of Tuesday, June 28, Josh has officially been transferred to the Federal Correctional Institute in Seagoville, Texas. There, he is allowed to have visitors, but conjugal visits are not allowed.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, visits look different due to the coronavirus pandemic. No physical contact is allowed and guests are separated from inmates with a plexiglass screen.
Because Josh is serving a 12-year sentence, the visiting guidelines will eventually return to normal. Once the COVID restrictions change, Josh can have up to five visitors at once, per the regular guidelines. So, in that case, Anna Duggar and several other family members can go together.
According to the Bureau of Prisons, “Visiting points will be modified to six (6) points per month effective June 1, 2016. Therefore points will be calculated based on each visit regardless of duration. One (1) point per day on Monday and/or Friday. Two (2) points per day on weekends and holidays.”
How far will Anna Duggar have to travel to visit Josh?
The Duggar family lives in Tontitown, Arkansas, which is located in northwest Arkansas. The drive from Tontitown to FCI Seagoville is about 357 miles and takes five hours and 38 minutes, according to Google Maps. So, this is a decent distance for Anna to travel if she wants to visit Josh. It would be about 11 hours round-trip, not including stops.
Of course, it would take Anna Duggar longer if she brought the kids along and needed to make multiple stops along the way.
There are also flights into the Dallas area, and Seagoville is a suburb of Dallas. Flights are out of Fayetteville, Arkansas, not Tontitown. By plane, it would only take a little over an hour to get from Fayetteville, Arkansas to Dallas, Texas. So, that is another option.
