‘Jeopardy!’ Alum Buzzy Cohen Stepping Up As New Host?

Jeopardy! alum Buzzy Cohen could make a return to the podium. Does this mean he will become the new permanent host? The show will announce the new permanent host at the end of Season 38 in July 2022. This lucky person will replace the late Alex Trebek.

So far, it’s been done to two people: Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik. Jennings is on a hiatus, while Bialik hosts the show for the sixth consecutive week. However, there’s been a lot more backlash about her hosting abilities. Fans have a feeling that Buzzy Cohen will come in to save the day.

Buzzy Cohen is working on a secret project

Jeopardy! fans think Buzzy Cohen think will return to the classic game show. He took to Twitter to announce that he was working on a secret project. Bialik and Jennings have been in the running for the coveted position. On Saturday, June 18, the alum shared the news with fans.

“Shout out to the camera guys on [as yet unannounced project] for convincing me to get a picopresso from @wacaco_ltd – cannot wait to get this thing going!!!” Buzzy tweeted.

Most fans wanted to know more about the secret project. He’s currently a chaser on ABC’s game show The Chase. Buzzy was also a contestant on Jeopardy! Fans wanted to know more about the “unannounced project” that he mentioned in his tweet.

“What ARE you up to Buzzy? Just watched my DVR’d Chase & you’re once again noticeably absent. Hmm…” one wrote.

“I KNEW IT,” another added.

One Jeopardy! fan called OneEclecticMom took notice of Buzzy’s tweet. She wrote, “Ooh, [as yet unannounced project] is my FAVE. Can’t wait for more, uh, episodes… or um, seasons?”

It sounded like she knew something was up. She’s a dedicated viewer who calls herself a “Jeopardy Fashion Connoisseur.” However, it’s unclear whether she would have insider information. She hasn’t teased anything else.

New Jeopardy! host to be announced soon

In the meantime, the new host of Jeopardy! will be announced soon. Buzzy was a former champ who competed in April and May 2016. He returned for 2017’s Tournament of Champions and 2019’s All-Star Games tournament.

Ever since Buzzy hosted the 2021 Tournament of Champions, fans wanted him to become the permanent host. Unfortunately, he never had a chance to guest host the syndicated series.

It’s been rumored that Bialik would become the host of Celebrity Jeopardy. However, fans don’t think she is the right fit for the beloved quiz show. They don’t like the way she slows down the pace of the game with her pauses.
