Jeopardy! fans are shocked at champ Megan Wachspress’s lucky streak. Her win has been a controversial one. On the Monday, June 20 episode, Megan came out of a five-day win. Some fans feel that her winning streak has been a case of luck. That was thrown in her favor after the Friday episode.

On the Friday, June 17 episode, Sadie Goldberger correctly guessed the Final Jeopardy! clue correctly. She could’ve ended up winning the game with her wager. However, host Mayim Bialik informed her that she didn’t write out her answer compeltely. She announced Megan as the winner and the current reigning champ.

Her win brought up a lot of questions from Jeopardy! fans. Some of them noticed the inconsistencies in some of the episodes. Most of the discussion about Megan’s win took place on social media. Over on Twitter, fans said she didn’t deserve her win. They think Sadie got “robbed.”

The conversation continued on Reddit, where one Jeopardy! fan recalled a time when a contestant incorrectly wrote out an answer. In fact, they spelled John Denver’s name. They left off the “R” at the end. Yet, their answer was still accepted.

The backlash caused Megan to speak out about it. On Saturday, June 18, she took to Twitter to share her thoughts about her win. Megan slightly suggested that Sadie should be given another chance to win. She said that she was willing to go up against her again.

“It’s probably inappropriate for me to say anything about the judges’ call in FJ yesterday (you can see my immediate reaction on the tape) but will say I’d love to see Sadie compete again (if she wants to!) – she is a formidable and gracious player with impressive knowledge,” Megan tweeted.

Some Jeopardy! fans were happy with her response. However, not all of them were happy. One noted that hers was a “peculiar” win. There are still questions about how Megan got so lucky.

During Monday’s episode, contestant Ketty Pan gambled at the end of the game with a Daily Double she guessed incorrectly. During Final Jeopardy!, contestant Tory Leviton had a slight lead over Megan. But both of them got the answer wrong. Still, Megan won because Tory wagered more money.

Jeopardy! fans took to Twitter to talk about Megan’s winning streak. While it’s not as controversial as Friday’s episode, some had to wonder if she’s just lucky. There are even more questions about the buzzworthy contestant.

Megan has a five-day win, which qualifies her for the Tournament of Champions. Still, she only has $52,002 in total winnings, which is less than the other five-day champs from this thrilling season. She only won $401 during that episode while those in third and second place won $1,000 and $2,000 consultation prizes.
