‘The Bachelorette’ More Work, Less Fun? Katie Thurston Spills The Tea

Katie Thurston is getting real about what it’s like being The Bachelorette. Why does she say it’s more work, less fun? Keep reading, and she’ll spill all the tea.
The Bachelorette all work and no play?
Katie Thurston was a fan-favorite contestant during Season 25 of The Bachelor. She didn’t win the heart of Matt James but she did win her own season as The Bachelorette.

The Washington native found love with Blake Moynes, but it didn’t last. Since the end of her season, she’s been speaking out about her experience on the ABC dating competition.
According to Katie, being The Bachelorette is not all it’s cracked up to be. She recently opened up her Instagram DMs to followers. “Ask me anything,” she offered.
One follower asked her to “spill the tea” about what it’s really like as The Bachelorette. The former bank marketing manager did not hold back.
“People always ask if it was fun,” she began. Thurston continued, “That’s not the first word that comes to mind for me.”
She further shared that people think that the Bachelorette lead is just there to flirt with the male contestants while on a two-month vacation but it’s not. Instead, she describes it as “work.”
“Sending people home hurts. People leaving hurts. Lies hurt. Manipulation hurts,” the former Bachelorette said about the experience.

She famously accused contestant Greg Grippo of manipulation and gaslighting after their tense argument near the end of the season.
Katie Thurston spills the tea about relationship with John Hersey
Shortly after confirming her split with Moynes, Katie revealed her new relationship. It seems her post-show friendship with former contestant John Hersey unexpectedly turned romantic.
Thurston recently returned to social media after a month-long break.

Another follower expressed their concern for the reality tv star’s new romance. “You haven’t posted with John lately, and IT’S MAKING ME SWEAT,” the follower wrote.
In response, Katie Thurston shared a clip of Hersey laughing while holding his beloved dog, Dexter.

Clearly, the two are still very much together, even if she hasn’t been sharing it on social media.
Do you agree with Katie’s assessment that being The Bachelorette is less fun, and more work? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
Hopefully, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia will have a better experience on the dating competition. Their joint season as The Bachelorette(s) kicks off on Monday, July 11, only on ABC. Don’t miss it!
