Kardashian Clan Not Finished With Blac Chyna, What Now?
The Kardashian-Jenner family is attempting to squeeze nearly $400K out of Blac Chyna. According to People Magazine, the reality TV family believes Blac should be responsible for the legal fees associated with the defamation case from last month. As TvShowsAce previously reported, Blac Chyna lost hard in her defamation case against the Kardashian and Jenner family. Now, the family wants her to foot the bills the family had to pay as a result of the case.
Kardashian-Jenner Family Want Nearly $400K From Blac Chyna
This new petition from the Kardashian and Jenner clan is requesting Blac Chyna fork over just shy of $400K to cover the legal fees the family spent as a result of the case. According to People Magazine, these legal fees include jury fees, deposition costs, photocopies, models, enlargements, and more. In total, the Kardashian and Jenner family claims they spent $391,094.76.
Blac Chyna’s layer, Lynne Ciani, did make a statement about this new petition to People Magazine. Lynne noted the Kardashian and Jenner family are attempting to ruin Chyna’s finances and it simply “will not work.”
Her lawyer’s statement continued: “Under California law, costs are awarded to defendants only when they are without fault. In this case, a Los Angeles jury reached a verdict that defendant Kris Jenner falsely claimed that ‘Chyna beat the s— out of Rob’s face’ and that defendant Kylie Jenner falsely claimed that Chyna would ‘proceed with using and physically abusing my brother.’ The same Los Angeles jury reached a verdict that defendants Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner did not act reasonably and in good faith to protect their own economic interests in the ‘Rob & Chyna’ show.”
“They cannot recover their exorbitant litigation costs of $391,000 from Ms. White,” the statement concluded.
Why Did She Go After The Family In The First Place?
Blac Chyna originally sued Kris, Kim, Kylie, and Khloe. Her lawsuit alleged that the Kardashian and Jenner family defamed her and caused the series, Rob & Chyna, to get canceled. Kim Kardashian was removed from the lawsuit prior to the jury determining Kylie, Khloe, and Kris were NOT guilty. Blac Chyna was awarded nothing as a result of the jury’s determination.
