‘Jeopardy!’ Viewers Roast Mazin Omer For Embarrassing Answer
Jeopardy! fans have found a new target. They took a break from taking shots at host Mayim Bialik, who is taking over until Ken Jennings returns in July 2022. Now, they have turned to one of the constants. The Monday, June 13 episode was an embarrassing one for viewers of the believed game show.
Viewers stormed social media to roast contestant Mazin Omer for his “worst guess over.” He mixed up two sixties icons in one of the categories. Some of the fans felt embarrassed for him. Find out why they’re calling it “a historic bad answer.”
Mazin Omer confuses his sixties icons
Jeopardy! contestant Mazin Omer made a memorable debut on Monday’s episode. He was confused over the sixties legends. During one category, the contestants saw a photo of English actor Michael Caine showing off the medal he received after his knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II in 2000. They had to figure out who was in the photo. Mazin was confused and mixed him up with another legend from the same decade.
“To honor his father, this star here was knighted in his birth name, so he’s Sir Maurice Micklewhite,” host Mayim Bialik said.
Mazin buzzed in and said, “Who is Mick Jagger?”
Jeopardy! fans were shocked by his incorrect response. Since the Rolling Stones lead singer has a very recognizable look, they don’t know how he could mix him up with The Italian Job star. Arguably, the two men don’t look anything alike. The viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Some of them had secondhand embarrassment for Mazin.
- “That has got to be the WORST guess over!”
- “The Michael Caine/Mick Jagger response will live on as a historic bad answer.”
- “I wish I had his lack of knowledge.”
- “I’m sure he knows a million things that I don’t, but man, I wasn’t ready for that.”
- “Truly amazing.”
Jeopardy! fans are missing Ryan Long
In the meantime, Jeopardy! fans are missing Ryan Long. They think he “threw the game” too early. Meteorologist Eric Ahasic is the current reigning champion. He had a better game than Mazin in that same episode. He went on to win his sixth consecutive win.
This streak now puts him in the category of “super-champions.” In the latest episode, Eric won a total of $26,800. This gives him a six-day total of $160,601. Ryan’s 16-day streak ended on Monday, June 6. Fans were unhappy to see him go.
24 correct responses per game on average. 13 out of 15 Daily Doubles found. 4 out of 5 runaway games. These aren't just good stats — they're potentially super-champ good. pic.twitter.com/P6WVUrVRrg

Season 38 of Jeopardy! has been the most dramatic yet. It’s been filled with high-stakes moments from champs like Ryan and Mattea Roach. There’s also a lot of talk about who could become the new permanent host after the great Alex Trebek passed away in 2020. This season has led up to all of this and more.
What are your thoughts on Mazin’s response? Do you think it was the worst answer in the history of Jeopardy? Who’s your favorite contestant? Sound off below in the comment section.
