‘Jeopardy!’ Ryan Long Gets Burned On Latest Request
Jeopardy! champ Ryan Long got burned on his latest request. Meanwhile, viewers claim he was snubbed from the title that Canadian tutor Mattea Roach currently holds. Sadly, his run came to an end during the Monday, June 6 episode. Ryan quickly became a fan favorite on the show.
The current reigning champion won 16 consecutive games as of Monday, June 6. He now has the ninth-longest gameplay streak ever. Fans have loved his wholesome Q&A tidbits, especially the one about his plans for his recent winnings. Ryan revealed that he finally gets to spend time with his son.
Jeopardy! champ was denied his latest request?
Ryan Long has many fans calling him their “favorite player ever.” He took to his active Twitter account to reveal what happened in the last episode. The 39-year-old says he was denied his latest request. He wanted to get the blue checkmark, which is similar to getting verified on social media accounts like Instagram.
“Welp. So much for that blue check mark, I guess,” Ryan Long tweeted with a screengrab of Twitter’s response.
The tech giant didn’t give any explanation as to why he couldn’t get verified on the app. Twitter did inform him that he could reapply for a blue checkmark within 30 days. Yet, Ryan says he doesn’t mind being verified.

“It’s really OK lol… The only truly concerning thing in this pic is how much I need to charge my phone,” Ryan added with the laughing tears emoji.
One fan assured him, “Mattea, Amy, and Matt have blue check marks. You’ll get yours!”
This latest snub comes as a surprise to fans. Mattea won her way through 23 games. She immediately received the blue checkmark just as Ryan Long was denied. Jeopardy! fans want to know the reason why he got snubbed again. He’s not having a good week since his Jeopardy! reign just came to an end.
Why did Ryan Long get snubbed?
Over 100 Jeopardy! fans took to the comment section to share their thoughts. Most of them accused Twitter of giving Ryan Long a shady response. They want answers. Others think it’s unfair that Twitter shut him down.
- “Can we do anything? This is wrong.”
- “@verified this is a no-brainer. Give the man his checkmark.”
- “I see that Mattea did not have until May 4th — you are getting close.”
- “I guess you’ll have to catch Mattea.”
- “That’s some BS.”
Mattea only had to ask by tweeting lyrics from a Lorde song after her 21st win. Ryan is only five games shy of that honor. Mattea also holds the fifth-longest streak on the show, which ended last month when she lost by $1. Her streak was hosted by Ken Jennings, who is currently on a hiatus.
Actress Mayim Bialik witnessed Ryan Long’s stretch. Ryan has been tweeting more online about his gameplay. He also explained why he squinted so much during the episodes. The Philadelphia rideshare drive won over the fans and they’re hoping that he will get a blue checkmark.
