When Calls The Heart just completed Season 9. However, Hearties have waited two weeks for Hallmark to announce Season 10. What does the executive producer, and co-creator of the series, Brian Bird, have to say about this?

When Calls The Heart EP Talks About Future Of Hallmark Series

Hearties have been fretting over Hallmark’s lack of renewal announcement for When Calls The Heart Season 10. However, Brian Bird doesn’t think that they need to worry. Speaking to the JLJ Media vlog, Bird said, “I really don’t believe we’ve even peaked yet in this show with Season 9.

He then made a bold prediction. “We will be around for a long time, I believe.” Citing “unfinished business” in Hope Valley, he doesn’t believe that the Season 9 finale episode, “Rock, A Bye, Baby,”  tied all loose ends.

That makes sense. Lucas (Chris McNally), and Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) just got engaged. They need to walk down the aisle, and we need to see what Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich) does at the wedding.

Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) and Lee (Kavan Smith) Coulter are finally going to have a baby. This is huge news! Moreover, Hearties want to see a pregnant Rosemary savoring this time, while Leland dotes on her every whim.

What about Henry (Martin Cummins)? What happens to him? He is in a heap of legal trouble. And Bill (Jack Wagner) didn’t look too healthy at the end of the season. Also, Allie (Jaeda Lee Miller) needs to prod her Mountie father Nathan (Kevin McGarry) to pick a woman to wed. Right now, both Faith (Andrea Brooks) and Mei Sou (Amanda Wong) are strong candidates.

However, Bird admitted that this was far from the end. “We didn’t tie up everything in [the season finale]. Because we have no intention of riding off into the sunset ourselves with this show. We will never end the show unless we decided to end the show.”

Brian Bird Says There Will Be When Calls The Heart Season 10

Do Brian Bird and the other executives at When Calls The Heart know about the future of the show? It doesn’t sound like it. He stated, “I don’t know when Season 10 or if Season 10 will be announced 100%. But all I’m saying is we still feel like we’re going to go forward. And we will no matter what. I can say that.”

EP Convinced That If Hallmark Doesn’t Renew, Another Network Till Take WCTH

Perhaps responding to the agony that so many Hearties are having because of the slowness of the renewal, Bird seemed to assure the fans of When Calls The Heart that they will always find a place for the series.

Whether or not the Hallmark Channel wants to keep us around forever, it doesn’t matter. There will be somebody else who wants it because it is so unique. And we will keep making the show as long as those Hearties want to show up and watch the show.

Immediately, fans may assume that he is talking about GAC. That is because GAC took over When Hope Calls after they decided to not renew the series. They did make When Hope Calls Christmas, two one-hour episodes for the start of Season 2.

Two When Calls The Heart alums, Daniel Lissing and Lori Loughlin, appeared. But, GAC has not made any more episodes. They seem to have stopped making anything non-Christmas and are now concentrating on new holiday movies, and the Great American Community app that will debut in the fall.

Many others suggest that if Hallmark does decide to not renew the series that it could go to UPtv, where they also air Heartland, another period show.

  1. I think we need more of When calls the heart, not just what they have now. Love this show, and would like to see a longer season.
