True horror story about Jimmy Carr’s Distraction

A user who goes by the handle Mr_Drew_P took to Reddit to share his thoughts on his audition for the popular game show Distraction. He shared the gory details of what he had to do for the game show. However, the moment didn’t even make the cut. The user noted they had to do all kinds of crazy stunts. They called it the “worst experience I had.”

The horror story started when user AdamW_91 asked, “Winners of UK game shows, what was it like? From any era. Would be [interested] to hear your stories.”

Mr_Drew_P wrote: “The worst experience I had, besides the sleep deprivation torture, was drinking my own piss in an audition for Distraction with Jimmy Carr.”

He revealed that he puked on the floor after he had to drink his own urine. He ended up winning the audition to be on Distraction. Producers told him that he would get a spot on the game show. He could even go on to receive the $12,000 prize.

But, his stint never appeared on the Jimmy Carr-hosted game show. Producers dropped him from Distraction after he appeared on Little Monsters, which is a competing game show on a rival network.

“Just before filming a few weeks later, a repeat of Little Monsters was shown on Sky One from a few years back — and they dropped me from the Distraction show. Some shows don’t like it if you have been on a different gameshow recently.”

Distraction regularly airs on Channel 4. Talkback Production is responsible for the game show and hasn’t responded to the media for comment. However, it’s not the first time that contestants have shared their experiences with auditioning for game shows.

Many have taken to social media or published personal essays on the behind-the-scenes of these productions.

The game show hasn’t responded to the request for comment

Distraction isn’t the only one that has a wildly different audition process. Many of them have contestants jumping through hoops. Also, it depends on the audition process and the game show itself. Vivienne Radfar appeared on 15 UK game shows, including Catchphrase, Mastermind, and Tipping Point.

She won $32,000 in total. It’s helped her put her son in university. In an exclusive interview with The Sun, Vivienne says it’s “addictive” to try out for game shows. She enjoys all of them and wants to join more. She came face-to-face with Mark Labbett on Chaser but says he’s not a “Beast” in real life.
