On Wednesday, May 25, Josh was sentenced to 151 months (12-and-a-half years) behind bars for receiving and possessing child pornography. The eldest Duggar son will soon be transferred to federal prison. Upon his release, he will have specific rules to follow, including some about viewing adult pornography, too.
On the evening of Wednesday, May 25, Duggar cousin Amy King issued a statement on Josh’s sentencing. Then, on the morning of Thursday, May 26, Derick and Jill Dillard added to the conversation with a statement on their blog.
Now, another member of the Duggar family is using their platform to speak out about Josh’s sentencing.

On his Instagram stories on Thursday, May 26, the morning after Josh was sentenced, Jason hopped online to share his thoughts publicly. In his post, he talks about Wednesday’s events and Josh’s sentence.
Then, he writes, “In my opinion, judge Timothy L. Brooks was fair in his ruling giving Josh a sentence that would be considered below the median for the crimes he has committed.”
The 22-year-old adds that his “heart is grieved” over Josh’s choices. Then, he talks about the way Josh’s actions have affected the rest of the family, “particularly his wife [and] seven children.”
Finally, Jason Duggar says, “My prayer is that God will use this circumstance to truly humble him and bring about a true change in his life!”
