Mama June Says Honey Boo Boo’s Future Plans Don’t Include Reality TV
Mama June Shannon is trying to get back in the good graces of her daughters. After going to rehab and then briefly disappearing once again, it’s not working so well. Her youngest, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson claims her mother does not even know her anymore. Yet does she have an idea of what the future holds for the teenager?
Honey Boo Boo’s History With Mama June
Mama June was big on helping her daughter get into the pageant scene. She first got her start on the reality show Toddlers and Tiaras. Eventually, the show was nixed but Alana aka Honey Boo Boo’s presence was one that people adored. Therefore, she and her family got the spinoff Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. It followed HBB, her parents, and sisters as they lived an interesting life down by the train tracks. They created semi-disgusting meals that were family favorites. Uncle Poodle was even a fun and quirky addition to the cast. Sadly, after four seasons, some controversy from Mama June led to the show’s cancelation.
Mama and her longtime partner (Alana’s father) Sugar Bear ended up parting ways so she underwent a huge makeover. From head to toe, she changed every little bit about herself. She started dating Geno Doak but he only took her down a bad road which included drugs and arrests. June lost everything and Alana went to live with her sister Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird and her growing family. They watched from afar as June attempted to get her life back together and now she is back. She is doing all she can to be with her girls and apparently learning a lot.
No More Reality TV?
According to The Sun, Mama June claims Alana will not pursue a career in reality television after she graduates high school. Apparently, the former pageant tot has a lot to look forward to in the near future. “She has been accepted into some colleges and she graduates high school next year,” June shared. Though nothing has been decided just yet, June sees more for Alana than reality television for the rest of her life. “Granted, we’ve made a career out of it when it fell in our lap, but I don’t see Alana doing reality TV at the age of 40.”
As for what the sixteen year old is hoping to study, June says that Alana is looking into nursing. Right now, she is enjoying her year-long relationship with boyfriend Dralin Carswell. Their budding romance will be featured on this season of Mama June: Road to Redemption which aird Fridays nights on WeTV.
