Wendy Williams Makes Rare Appearance In Red With Male Friend
Wendy Williams made a rare appearance in red with a male friend. She has taken a step back from the public eye since her health issues. The last time she graced the small screen was in July 2021. Wendy promises that she will make a comeback soon.
In the meantime, she’s working on her financial problems. She’s still in a legal battle with her bank Wells Fargo. Wendy argues she should have access to her bank accounts. Since then, she has been quiet about her grand returns to television.
Steps out with a male acquaintance
On Monday, May 2, Wendy Williams stepped out with a male friend. It’s her first public outing in New York City since she spent time in Florida with her family. The self-proclaimed queen of daytime couldn’t miss out on the Met Gala, which took place on Monday, May 1. Check out the photos for yourself here.
Wendy Williams was decked out in glam for the event. She wore a fire engine red camisole over a maroon off-the-shoulder blouse. The daytime talk show host paired her look with a multi-colored silk skirt in the colors of red, coral, blue, and aqua. Wendy finished off her fun look with an evening bag that featured dollar signs on it and colorful walking sneakers.
She was joined by her friend Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, who wore a black jacquard print tuxedo. Both of them had smiles on their faces. Wendy Williams didn’t attend the 2022 Met Gala itself. Rather, she was in town to attend an afterparty that took place at The Standard hotel.
Jason took to his Instagram account to show off his chic look. He also introduced his followers to “the sexiest date in New York City.” In the video, she sported a pair of black bunny ears. Wendy smiled before she said her signature phrase, “How you doin’?”
Wendy Williams wants to make a comeback
This latest outing comes after she made her first public appearance this year on Good Morning America. During the bizarre interview, she announced that she was planning on making a return to television. However, she chose not to show her face during that interview.
The Wendy Williams Show was canceled this year. However, the former television personality is not letting that get her hopes up. She still has plans to have her own talk show. During her interview with GMA, she claimed that she will “be back on the Wendy show,” despite the cancellation.
Wendy Williams’ extended hiatus took place in September 2021. At the time, Season 13 was pushed back twice amid her ongoing health issues. In February 2022, the show announced that Sherri Shepherd was getting her own talk show, Sherri. She will also take over the time slot of The Wendy Williams Show this coming fall.
