Lisa Vanderpump Supports Stassi Schroeder, Calls Out ‘Cancel Culture’
Lisa Vanderpump and Stassi Schroeder are on good terms. As TV Shows Ace previously reported, fans wondered if she snubbed the former Vanderpump Rules co-star. Stassi stayed home and made something special for those who purchased her new book. She skipped the grand opening of Vanderpump’s new Las Vegas restaurant, Vanderpump à Paris. Even though Stassi was a no-show, Vanderpump supports her.
This comes on the heels of the blonde reality star’s new book, Off With My Head: The Definitive Basic B*** Handbook to Surviving Rock Bottom. Stassi blames “cancel culture” for her downfall. She got fired in June 2020 after her past racist comments and actions came back to bite her. However, Lisa Vanderpump also feels that “cancel culture” is to blame.
Stassi Schroeder discusses “cancel culture” in the new book
Stassi Schroeder compares herself to Marie Antoinette. She even goes as far as to dress up as the historical figure on the cover of the book. The follow-up to Next-Level Basic: The Definitive Basic B*** Handbook addresses her downfall. Stassi admits to making huge mistakes, but she also refers to that time as being “canceled” for her past.
She talks about the “seven days of hell” that followed after her past came back to haunt her. While Stassi Schroeder loves a good haunt, she didn’t enjoy what was about to come. Not only did she lose her gig on Vanderpump Rules, but she also lost many endorsements as well as her Straight Up with Stassi podcast. On top of that, her agents quit in the midst of the controversy.
“Just imagine making a terrible mistake, but one that has nothing to do with how good you are at your job. And one that doesn’t truly reflect who you are,” Stassi writes in her book, per Us Weekly. “You’re told to stay quiet. You’re already ashamed of the mistake you made. You already want to fix it. But on top of that, every single person you know or have ever met knows about this mistake.”
Lisa Vanderpump supports former Bravo star
In a new interview, Lisa Vanderpump talked about Stassi’s firing. She spoke with Us Weekly at the opening of her new restaurant last week. Vanderpump supported Stassi and said she was “great on the show.” Before she went on to blame “cancel culture,” she revealed that she met up with the former fashion blogger.
“It was a sign of the times, it was retribution. It was punitive. I get it. But to me, I would have had them sit down here and say, ‘You tell me why you feel you could do that,'” Lisa Vanderpump explained to Us Weekly on Thursday, April 28. “I think holding people accountable, that’s so cliche, but it’s so important. I just hate, hate this cancel culture. I just believe as you grow up, you make mistakes. And that’s when I think you really need to learn from that.”
However, Vanderpump blames Stassi’s “arrogance” that “superseded her empathy and her smarts.” As for Stassi’s claims about a VPR spinoff called Vanderpump Valley, she claims she never heard of such a concept. Lisa Vanderpump isn’t sure if it would ever happen with the original cast members.
