‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Update: Gabriela Quits, What Now?

Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew member Gabriela Barragan is officially off the yacht. On the Monday, April 25th episode, she revealed to Captain Glenn Shephard that she no longer wants to work with the crew. Prior to that, Gabriela has been teasing her desire to quit. She first brought it up to third stew Ashley Marti, who shared their personal conversation with chief stew Daisy Kelliher.

Daisy had no idea how bad the drama was among the interior team. She admits that she didn’t try mitigating the issue between Gabriela and Ashley. Not only was Gabriela feuding with Ashley, but she also quarreled with Chef Marcos Spaziani after he brushed her off. The two have thrown passive-aggressive digs at each other ever since.

Gabriela Barragan quits Below Deck Sailing Yacht

The Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew is down another crew member. Captain Glenn fired deckhand Tom Pearson for a major mistake he made during anchor watch. Now, Gabriela officially left the Parsifal III. Gabriela was at odds with most of her crew members, especially during their two-day break. She was looking forward to relaxing and drinking at the beach house with her fellow cohorts.

Unfortunately, Gabriela’s anxiety followed her there. She got into another heated argument with Chef Marco. Gabriela felt like the outsider of the crew. After a conversation with her friend over the phone, she realized that the problem lies with her. Gabriela wanted to focus on strengthening her mental health and interpersonal relationships.

But, she couldn’t do that while filming Below Deck Sailing Yacht. That’s when she made the difficult decision to quit. Gabriela asked Captain Glenn to speak with her and that’s when she revealed she needed to leave the boat. The former stew spoke out about her decision to leave on the Gangplank Report podcast.

Gabriela felt like she was never “part of the group” and called the work environment “uncomfortable.” She felt that Ashley was “poisoning” her against the crew. She also feels the crew “broke her spirit,” which made her realize she needs to focus on herself. Gabriela knew she had to leave Below Deck Sailing Yacht for good.

What is Gabriela Barragan up to now?

Gabriela is still working in the yachting industry to this day. In fact, she works with Below Deck alum Wes O’Dell. She confirmed that the two are dating. Wes also made an appearance with Gabriela on the Gangplank Report podcast, where they confirmed their relationship.

Gabriela calls Wes her “biggest supporter.” This may come as a shock to fans since it seemed like she had her eye on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3 crew member Gary King. Even though they were snuggle buddies, she only saw him as a friend. Meanwhile, Ashley saw Gabriela as her competition.

“Wes and I are dating. We’ve been dating for a couple of months,” she revealed, per Monsters & Critics.

Wes gave her a bracelet from St. Thomas that featured a horseshoe, which signified he wanted to pursue a relationship with her. Gabriela works as Wes’ first mate on the new boat. Wes has helped Gabriela feel some sort of “normalcy” with working in the yachting industry again. Next, she’s focused on “advancing my career.”
