Isabel Roloff is opening up to fans about being poor and revealing how she plans to raise her son, Mateo. She and her husband, Little People, Big World alum Jacob Roloff, welcomed their first child to the world in December of 2021. They are adjusting to parenthood and sharing all of the highs and lows of raising a baby.

Recently, Isabel opened up about her own past and what she plans to do with her son.

On social media, Isabel and Jacob have opted to give Mateo some privacy. Jacob was raised on TLC’s Little People, Big World, but he has since exited the show. To protect their son, the couple only shares photos of his feet or of the back of his head. They don’t want to share his face with the world.

So, fans don’t often get too many updates about the little one. But it looks like Isabel Roloff wants to share more about what’s ahead for her son.

Isabel Roloff talks about her past and her family’s future.

In a new Instagram post this weekend, Isabel shared a photo of the blue sky above old railroad tracks, which are surrounded by dirt and trees.

In her caption, she talks about her own childhood and where she came from. She writes:

“I grew up at the end of an old gravel road.
Walking barefoot on adventures is seeped in my bones.
My brothers and I spent every day walking these tracks, collecting rocks and rusty old train spikes.
We’d spend all day outside making mud pies and riding bikes.”
She talks about the sounds she heard and the school she attended. She also mentions the trees that are older than she is.

It sounds like Isabel wants to give Mateo the same childhood she had.

She finishes her post, writing, “I have been a lot of places that felt a lot like home. But at the end of it all, I can say one day I’ll raise my babies out here, just the way I was raised. Nowhere else quite feels the same. Sometimes we fly the coop but I never planned to stray too far from my roots.”
