In the shadow of WWE Wrestlemania 38, the superstars of WWE Smackdown took steps forward. Roman Reigns and The Bloodline were riding high until the King of Strong Style got involved. MadCap Moss and Happy Corbin’s friendship appeared to implode during Happy TV. Ronda Rousey did her best to push for a rematch against Charlotte Flair for Wrestlemania Backlash. Gunther proved the recent rumors true and made his debut alongside the newly minted Ludwig Kaiser. Here are 3 Must-See Moments from Friday Night Smackdown, plus full results from the show.

WWE Smackdown: 3 Must-See Moments

The Bloodline take out Nakamura
In the main event of Wrestlemania, Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to become the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Less than a week later, Reigns and the Bloodline closed out WWE Smackdown with a promise to unify the tag team times in due time. With Reigns’ arrogance on display, Shinsuke Nakamura came to the ring as the crowd hummed the tune of his theme music. Before Nakamura could say a word, Reigns interrupted him with apparent sympathy. Reigns claimed he understood Nakamura’s recent frustration from losing his tag partner in Rick Boogs. The Universal Champion gave Nakamura a hug before the Usos laid out the King of Strong Style with double superkicks.

Rousey’s challenge denied
In one of the highlight matches at WWE Wrestlemania, Ronda Rousey fell short in her quest to dethrone Charlotte Flair. Rousey appeared that have the match one, however, a bump by the referee changed the course of the action and the champion retains with a boot to the jaw. On Friday Night Smackdown, Rousey attempted to challenge Charlotte to an “I Quit Match,” which the champion was quick to turn down. Despite this, the match was later made for Wrestlemania Backlash, despite Flair’s protest.

The Ring General

Gunther debuts
For years Gunther, the former WALTER, dominated NXT UK and later WWE NXT. In recent weeks, rumors have claimed that Gunther and Imperium would get the bump up to the main roster. On WWE Smackdown this week, those rumors proved to be true. Along with Ludwig Kaiser (the former Marcel Barthel), Gunther made his main roster debut on the blue brand. Gunther took ok enhancement talent Joe Alonzo in what felt very similar in tone to a 1980s jobber match. Gunther made quick work of Alonzo and set the groundwork for what could come in the near future.
