Christine Brown Saves ‘Sister Wives’ Show Single-Handedly
Christine Brown has turned divorce into success. She left a toxic relationship and has now made the best life for herself and her youngest daughter, Truely. This was something she most likely had no idea she could do but yet she prevailed. Since she left the Brown family, fans have started rewatching past seasons of Sister Wives. There is an attempt to pinpoint where it really all went wrong. With the marriage crumbling and Christine’s continued success, has she single-handedly saved the series?
Christine Asserts Her Freedom At The Right Time
Viewers watched Kody dictate to his wives the rule and regulations while navigating through the pandemic. He was especially harsh on Janelle and Christine. Kody claimed both women were reckless with Janelle’s children being disobedient. However, Janelle consistently stood up to him and put her children first. As for Christine, she was adamant that she was always going to go where she and her kids were loved. This meant celebrating Thanksgiving 2020 in Utah at Aspyn and Mitch’s with family. It did not sit well with Kody and it made her seem like an outcast despite the fact that Janelle did the exact same thing.
When Christine realized she was never going to get what she wanted or needed from her marriage, she ended it. Interestingly enough, the formal announcement about her leaving came out in early November 2021. Season 16 was slated to air at the end of November 2021 so the announcement was perfectly timed. Those who otherwise were over the Brown family suddenly wanted to tune in to see the demise of Christine and Kody. They wanted to see all of the aforementioned issues unfold. Christine’s marriage failure was a winner in the ratings.
Saving The Series
After Christine Brown announced she was leaving, the new season premiered and fans got to see the complete disconnect between her and Kody. They saw how he treated Ysabel before her scoliosis surgery, believing it was Christine’s way to get a vacation. Furthermore, fans saw Kody deny Christine intimacy which was something he was already doing with Meri. At the tell-all, Christine announced they were officially divorced. She did not want a marriage like Kody and Meri’s where they lived their lives as just friends. This made fans look back and see that maybe Christine had always gotten the short end of the stick.
People started to read the book the Browns had written years ago, Becoming Sister Wives, once again and posted excerpts on Reddit. Old clips were also being shared with support going to Christine. Now, she has her own cooking show, Cooking With Just Christine. Additionally, fans are over-eager for the series to return for Season 17. The once fledgling show where Kody negotiated a lower pay rate just to keep the series running is now in demand. It is largely in part to Christine taking a stand. She chose a better life and without that, the show would have remained monotonous.
