‘Below Deck’ Captain Glenn Reveals Chef Adam’s Blowup In The Galley
Below Deck Sailing Yacht star Captain Glenn Shephard is lucky this year. He has Chef Marcos Spaziani in the galley. The yachting chef has been praised for his calm demeanor during challenges like bumping his head and strong winds. But that wasn’t always the case in every charter season. That was the case with Chef Adam Glick.
Adam reprised his role after working two seasons on Below Deck Mediterranean. Glenn recalled a time when he had a blowup in the galley. Fans recall that Adam’s relationship with chief stew Jenna MacGillivray distracted him in the galley. She was also distracted since she spent most of her time there.
Captain Glenn’s awkward run-in with Chef Adam
The Below Deck fan-favorite made an appearance on Melissa Rivers’ Group Text Podcast. Captain Glenn shared a time when he worked with Chef Adam, who struggled to work in the windy weather. He wasn’t used to working in a sailing yacht, which tips over in windy conditions. Adam almost lost his mind because of the high winds.
“Adam, I remember getting quite upset, our chef from Season 1,” Glenn said. “He actually came up to the flybridge. And we’re having a great sail and he’s like, ‘OK, can you guys stop sailing?’ I’m like, ‘No, I can’t stop sailing. The guests are enjoying this.’ We’ve got to figure out a way to do both. We got to be able to do the sailing and get a nice meal prepared for them. It’s a challenge, but you know, we do it.”
Adam shared his dismay during an episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. While he understood that it was his “job to cook under sail,” he wasn’t happy with it. Adam didn’t enjoy working on a sailing yacht. He called that particular moment “ridiculous.”
In his confessional, Glenn insisted that the guests wanted to sail. So, he wanted to make this experience a memorable one for him. He said that Adam can’t tell him to do his job. After all, Glenn has to focus on the happiness of his charter guests.
What happened to the Below Deck chef?
Adam no longer works in the yachting industry. He’s happier to be working at land. Adam’s last time was on Season 1 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht and he hasn’t looked back. The chef spends most of his time on a ranch.
“After 12 years living and working on the open ocean, I’m f***ing over it. I’m ready to have a ranch, I’m ready to live my life on land and grow a beautiful garden,” the Below Deck alum said at the time. “And do the things that I want to do, like feed people organically over a fire. And none of those things can I do on a boat.”
Adam got a new van and is traveling around the country. He shares his food and travels on his Instagram page. The former reality star enjoys cooking in the great outdoors. He also launched his collection of knives and is working on his own cookbook.
