‘Love Is Blind’: Shaina Hurley Addresses Her Frequent Onscreen Squinting

Shaina Hurley gives the reasoning behind her squinting habit
Love Is Blind viewers didn’t exactly fall head over heels in love with Shaina Hurley this year. Many really didn’t appreciate how she tried to get in the middle of Natalie and Shayne’s budding romance. Others weren’t fans of how she treated her ex-fiance, Kyle Abrams.
But no matter what they thought of her, most of them noticed her constant squinting — especially during the reunion special.
As reported by BuzzFeed, Shaina Hurley definitely noticed the online buzz about her squinting habit.
“I wear contacts, OK?” the Netflix star said on an Instagram story. “I’ve been squinting ever since I can remember. I’m always getting yelled at, like, ‘Stop squinting! You’re going to get wrinkles.’ That’s why I probably have wrinkles.”
She went on to say that she’s struggled with vision issues for years. She’s asked her eye doctors about astigmatism, but they apparently said she doesn’t have one.
“And my contacts have been the same. I’m like a -5.25. I am blind, basically, but, love is blind,” she joked. Or, if your name is Shake Chatterjee, love is certainly blurry.
Even the official Love Is Blind Instagram account had a little fun with the memes.

The Netflix star moves on with someone new
During the Love Is Blind reunion special, Kyle Abrams finally confronted Shaina Hurley about the way she treated him. Both agreed that she never should have accepted his proposal in the first place.
But now, it seems like both are moving on with their lives. Rumors continue to fly around the internet that Kyle and Deepti Vempati reconnected and are together.
Meanwhile, Shaina has her own budding romance.
“I’m actually in a relationship. It’s pretty serious,” Shaina admitted on an episode of The Viall Files. “He’s been great throughout the whole situation. I’m happy.”
She hasn’t said much about her new guy yet, but we may know more in time.
