Josh Duggar’s sentencing date is less than a month away, and fans are curious about what will happen. The former TLC star was convicted on two child pornography counts in December. Now, a lawyer has weighed in on the situation and revealed what Josh’s future may entail.

In case you missed any of the updates about the eldest Duggar son, you should know that he was arrested in the spring of 2021 after a multi-year federal investigation. He was released on conditions and lived with a family friend for several months until his trial, which began in November. Through it all, his wife Anna Duggar has reportedly stood by his side and seems to believe he’s innocent.

Josh Duggar was found guilty of both receiving and possessing child pornography but will serve his two sentences concurrently. He’s facing up to several decades behind bars, as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines. At this point, however, no one knows exactly what his sentence will include. So, what might Josh’s future hold, according to a lawyer?

Attorney weighs in on Josh Duggar’s upcoming sentencing.

Adam Michael Sacks, a family and criminal lawyer, spoke with The Sun. The lawyer thinks that Josh Duggar is facing the maximum sentence, based on his personal experience.

Sacks explained, “The judge doesn’t have a lot of discretion because of the formula used for sentencing. If the judge feels like he’s worth saving, he’ll go towards the lower end of the range. If Josh has a bad attitude in court or if he is influenced by victim statements, he’ll aim for the higher range.”

Then, he added, “For Josh, I believe he will get a higher sentence. Courts don’t want to deal with being accused of giving special treatment and just giving a slap on the wrist.

Why could Josh Duggar get a harsher sentence, though? Sacks elaborated, “The judge might say, ‘People looked up to you. You were on television. You should’ve been a better example for the people who watched you.”

Fans will have to wait and see what Josh Duggar’s exact fate is. The former TLC star’s sentencing date is April 5.

So, how long do you think Josh Duggar will spend behind bars? Do you appreciate the insight Sacks shared with The Sun? Tell us your thoughts in the comments section below. For more Duggar family news, come back to TV Shows Ace.

  1. I hope they throw the book at him. Its obvious he isn’t going to change.l Wish they would check his kids. If he’ll molest his sisters I am sure his kids may have suffered as well. He deserved everything the judge will allow and then some. His parents have been covering up way too love.

  2. Please, call it CSAM (child se*#al abuse materials), not child p#*n. Law enforcement and other publications no longer call it that because it does two things.

    1. Makes it sound not as serious as it really is. It almost makes it sound legal.

    2. Shames legal age sex workers.

    Get with the times.
