‘Below Deck’ Tom Pearson Thinks He’s A ‘Legend’ For What He Did?
Below Deck Sailing Yacht newbie Tom Pearson thinks of himself as a “legend.” Maybe in the sense that he became the first person in Below Deck history to get sick after heavily drinking during a crew night out. The first night didn’t go off as he hoped. Tom was hoping to get lucky by the end of the night.
He had on his eye on third stew Ashley Marti. She told Tom that he’s not her type since she likes older guys like First Mate Gary King. He drank so much throughout the course of the night that he got sick.
Getting sick in Captain Glenn’s room
Tom shares a cabin with Below Deck Sailing Yacht star captain Glenn Shephard. He got so sick that he vomited in their shared bathroom. When Tom walked into the cabin, he told Glenn that he wasn’t feeling well. Glenn was sitting in bed while reading a book on his eBook reader.
At first, the captain didn’t move a muscle. He only told Tom to sleep in the crew mess. Tom sleeps on the top bunk, while Glenn is in the bottom bunk. Tom said he wanted to sleep on the floor instead.
However, he couldn’t even make it to the crew mess. He stumbled into the bathroom and threw up in the toilet. Glenn realized that Tom got sick from drinking too much. He walked onto the deck and told everyone to go to bed.
Suddenly, Glenn was having regrets about sharing a cabin with his crew members. He didn’t realize that they would party that hard on the first night. The first charter was just hours away. The new deckhand is sounding off on his first night on the yacht. Find out why Tom thinks he’s a “legend” in Below Deck Sailing Yacht history.
Below Deck Sailing Yacht star calls himself a “legend”
In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Tom regarded himself as a “legend.” He doesn’t have any regret over drinking too much on the first night. He wanted to put himself “on the map” when it came to Below Deck newcomers. Tom enjoyed watching the first episode back, especially Captain Glenn’s reaction.
“I love the first episode, I wasn’t embarrassed, start as you mean to go on and I went to have a good time,” Tom told Express.co.uk. “I mean, you know, just don’t mix tequila and you won’t be sick, who hasn’t had a few drunken nights where you haven’t like thrown up or embarrassed yourself in front of work colleagues. Everyone in the world has done it; they just didn’t do it on national television, which only makes me a little bit more of a legend.”
The yachtie is aware of the criticism he’s received for his behavior. Tom’s also received responses from people who loved the premiere episode. He also confirmed that he did not puke on Captain Glenn. For some reason, people think that Tom got sick on him.
Tom doesn’t recall what happened. When he woke up in the crew mess, he did feel slightly “embarrassed.” Yet, watching it back, that embarrassment went away. Tom added that being in front of the cameras felt “natural” to him.
