Who is Tammy Ly?
Bachelor viewers first met Tammy Ly when she appeared as a contestant on Season 24. She made it to the final 10 before getting sent home by Peter Weber.
Ly returned to the franchise for Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise. While there, she was caught in a love triangle with Becca Kufrin for Bachelorette Season 17 villain Thomas Jacobs. Ultimately, Jacobs chose Kufrin over Tammy.
Fans were hoping to continue to see Tammy Ly’s journey to love. However, it seems that won’t be happening within Bachelor Nation.

On Saturday, March 5th, Tammy Ly took to her Instagram to air her grievances with the franchise. In a series of six short clips, the alum vented against how far behind “modern life” the show is.
In the first clip, she declares that she’s “done with this franchise.” Ly further reveals that her contract expires in April and she’s “never looking back” after that.
Throughout the videos, she stays calm and composed as she does her makeup.
Tammy Ly makes the shocking accusation that if you’re not a ‘favorite’ of the franchise, you’re treated like “dog sh*t.” And she’s done with it.
The clips continue with her calling out ABC for being “light years behind the times,” which she attributes to the drop in ratings.
In another video, the Bachelor alum compares the show to Netflix’s hit Love Is Blind. She notes that the streaming giant’s show has a large amount of diversity in contestants, something the Bachelor Nation franchise struggles with.
And Ly doesn’t think the franchise will ever “get there” when it comes to diversity.
As the videos come to a close, Tammy thanks her fans, but admits it’s time for her to “move on” from the franchise.
Did this Season 26 contestant’s behavior play a role in her decision?
The Bachelor franchise has been plagued with controversy surrounding contestants of color for years. In fact, Chris Harrison was forced out as host after a scandal involving accusations of racism.
Most recently, Season 26 contestant Marlena Wesh had to apologize after posting a racially-charged roast of a fellow contestant. The network never publicly responded to the scandal.
Did Tammy Ly leaving the franchise have to do with Wesh’s posts? Unlikely. Ly said at the beginning of her rant that what she was about to say was a follow-up to an earlier post on her main feed.
“Onto better things that were MEANT for me. Rejection is God’s redirection,” Tammy Ly teased on her Instagram days before her epic rant.
In one of the videos, she alludes to something that went down in the franchise earlier this week. However, fans will likely never hear about it, she said. Whatever happened was the “last straw” for the real estate agent.
When her contract expires in April, that likely means her NDA will expire as well. Perhaps she will share details about the real reason why she quit the franchise.
