‘AGT’ Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski Dead, Succumbs To Cancer
It is a sad day for AGT fans. Former contestant Jane ‘Nightbirde’ Marczewski has passed away at the tender age of 31, according to People. She succumbed to cancer on Sunday, TMZ shared and this is a devastating loss not just for her family but for the AGT crew, as well. The cancer was in her spine, liver, and lungs, as she shared on the show with a two percent survival rate. She was incredibly hopeful she would beat it but sadly, she could not fight any longer.
Nightbirde’s AGT Journey
The songstress was first featured on Season 16 of the hit talent series. It was the first year AGT enacted the Golden Buzzer and she landed it from none other than Simon Cowell. She headed straight to live shows and it was a serious season. Due to the pandemic, extreme precautions were taken. As for Nightbirde, she instantly became a fan and judge favorite, amassing millions of streams and views on YouTube. However, her little body had to withdraw from the competition due to her battle with cancer.
The season was filmed last summer and in August 2021, she broke the news via Instagram that her health had to come first. Though she wanted to stay, there was no longer a choice for her. Many people who had grown to love her felt she had already won. This was in many ways true as her music was already resounding with fans everywhere and they hoped to see her again very soon. Sadly, this would never happen.
The Loss Of An Angel
At the beginning of this year, Nightbirde shared an update with her followers. As much as she tried to stay positive, admittedly things were brutal for her. At thirty-one, she is now at peace. A representative has yet to respond. However, her AGT family has already taken the time to give sweet tributes to the girl they admired and loved. Series host Terry Crews had this to say via Instagram: “We are saddened to learn about @_nightbirde’s Passing. Our Condolences goes to her Closest Family & Friends in such of This difficult time. We Love you, Nightbirde.”
Judge Heidi Klum added: “We love you. Rest in peace @nightbirde.” Simon Cowell always had immense faith in Nighbirde as he said they talked often when she left. He told her she could always come back but there was no reason for that. Cowell was a firm believer she would be successful on her own accord and people would flock to buy her music. Now, she is with the angels, and here is an original song she left behind.
