Why Meri Brown Will NEVER Leave The ‘Sister Wives’ Family
Viewers are constantly questioning why Meri Brown stays with her Sister Wives family. She has very limited contact with her husband, Kody. Furthermore, she has a very limited relationship with her three other sister wives. Put this together and what life does Meri truly have in the Brown family? Kody even said it is not really a fulfilling life for anyone? So, why has Meri yet to leave and why will she NEVER leave? There are a handful of reasons that keep her firmly planted in the family.
Meri Brown- OG Sister Wife
When tracing the Sister Wives lineage, Meri is the first wife to be seen. She and Kody got married in 1990 and they were very much in love. Admittedly, they were very happy but it had always been discussed they would bring more wives into the family. Janelle had already been in their lives since she was married to Meri’s brother. Once she got divorced, it was a natural fit yet the two women did not automatically get along. When Christine arrived, she broke the tension between the other wives but created a lot of jealousy.
Meri was initially jealous of Janelle. It was weird to have to share a husband as she shared on Sister Wives: One on One. However, when Christine entered the picture, the jealousy increased and Meri cannot explain why. Fourth wife Robyn was sought out by Meri and she encouraged Kody to ask her to dance. There was actually a very close connection between Meri and Robyn with Robyn offering to be a surrogate. Meri struggled with having a second child for years so this was an amazing offer.
The two even worked on a business together and Meri selflessly divorced Kody so Robyn could marry him. This allowed him to adopt Robyn’s children from her previous marriage. Unfortunately, there was a lot of damage in the marriage as Meri was in a very dark place. She took to the internet for comfort but that ended quite badly. Kody noted they hadn’t been doing well for a while and that was just the nail in the coffin. Now, they are no more than friends who haven’t been intimate in a decade. So, why stay?
Never Leaving
At this point, Meri Brown has committed herself to this lifestyle and more so, this family. For starters, she has been with Kody for over thirty years. Despite claiming if she had caught COVID, no one would be there and she would be alone, this is not the case. Second wife, Janelle said she would hope Meri would text her and let her know so she could take care of her. Additionally, Kody has promised to take care of her as a lot on Coyote Pass will be hers once they start to build.
Financially, Meri is all set so she is happy with her businesses such as LulaRoe and her inn, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn. She only birthed one daughter, Mariah but is extremely close to Robyn’s five children. They had a very emotional reunion after nine months of pandemic social distancing. Finally, Meri was raised in polygamy. She had five mothers and over twenty siblings. This is what she is accustomed to and despite her seeming desperate, she has faith.
Meri truly believes she and Kody will be together again in fellowship. He has stated this will never happen but Meri is not so sure. She has the business, the family, the security, and the comfort. Why would she leave? Let us know in the comments below.
