Destinee Lashaee was suing My 600-Lb. Life production

Fans of My 600-Lb. Life first met Destinee Lashaee back in 2019 when she appeared on Season 7 of the series. At 27-years-old, Destinee joined the cast of the show weighing 669-Lbs. After being on the show, she was able to drop over 500 pounds. At the time of her passing, Destinee was in the process of suing the production of My 600-Lb. Life.

She was seeking $1 million in damages. She is one of many cast members to take legal action against the production team. Likewise, she isn’t the first cast member with an active lawsuit against production to pass away.

On Reddit and Facebook, there is a lot of chatter and speculation that perhaps the lawsuits seeking damage against the production team are valid. Is it possible Dr. Now does not take proper care of his patient’s mental health as they pursue weight loss?

Rest in peace, Destinee Lashaee.

  1. Destinee is suing dr now for his mental health?? He was Trans so obviously extremely mentally ill – 700 pounds & thinks he’s a woman. LOL yeah it’s dr mows fault. Now he’s joined the 40%. No surprise there

    1. Obviously “extremely mentally ill” because they were trans? That does not make one mentally ill. I know more sane trans people than straight. Have some respect, birdbrain. And who is Dr mow? Destinee was not blaming the doctor, but rather the production company ….learn to research.

    2. How does being trans mean he is extremely mentally ill??
      Who is Dr mow ??
      You really are nasty.
You need to wake up and be a bit nicer to people.
I feel so sorry for destinee and her family all the love in the world..
She must have been so unhappy. Wish she could have found someone to reach out to.

  2. The devil got ya!! I am praying for peace for your family. NO PEACE for those who dont know Christ. ( 1 Cor. 3:16-17) And if you dont know God you are condemned anyway. (John 3:36) I am so sad to hear this. Sigh.

    1. I wonder if Christ will want to know you after your judgemental, heinous mouthful.
I don’t remember anywhere in the bible saying, trash the people you don’t understand!!

    2. You sound deranged. It’s unfathomable to me that people still believe that nonsense! Seriously sounds like you’re the one that needs mental help with some delusional thinking. Good luck to you.

  3. How about learn to be accountable for your own actions! Don’t blame others, blame yourself! No one is responsible for you but YOU! I hate to hear this about Destinee. RIP. But you can’t blame Dr. Now he most always send his patients to see the therapist!

  4. Dr. Now is a doctor not a miracle worker. He can only give these patients the tools to get better, it is up to the patient to do the hard work to be successful. I think he is terrific.

  5. To my understanding He was not suing Dr Now, he was suing the production co.

Dr. Now has nothing to do with the lawsuit.

  6. It’s a shame that they didn’t do anything for the mental health anybody that that loses that much weight always needs help one for the fact that people that have that much weight on them and lost it don’t alway see themselves as skinny after surgery 2 when it comes to that sweet Trans girl my heart goes out to you I’m not impressed with her brother him acting like it was such a loss why are you still calling him brother he is your sister you scum for for your 2 minutes of fame about your SISTER’S LIFE find it somewhere else she was a beautiful soul

    1. I agree but anyone who struggles with mental health issues there are resourses. I am sure she had free insurance through the state. Dr. Now does the surgery. If you struggle with mental health issues go seek mental health help. He is not there to take care of them forever. They are adults.

  7. Each person are told before they begin the weight loss journey that it is going to be hard. They are all also given mental health therapy. Most of the contestants would never be able to afford this on their own. They are blaming people trying to help them for their own weaknesses. I praise Dr. Now for having a passion to help these people. Why is he being sued?? Hopefully he will win!!
