Erika Jayne’s Latest Move In Embezzlement Case Confuses Fans
Erika Jayne has made a strange move in the ongoing embezzlement case. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star “claims ownership” of her ex-husband Thomas Girardi’s now-defunct law firm, Girardi Keese. Yet, she “claims zero responsibility” for what happened to his former clients. In addition, the reality star wants the estate to pay off her damages and legal fees.
Previous clients have accused Erika and Thomas of embezzling money to support their lavish lifestyle. Amid the ongoing bankruptcy case and the $25 million lawsuit against the Bravo star, attorney Ronald Richards shared an update. He talked about her bizarre move, which puts her in control of the law firm.
Erika Jayne makes a strange offer
On Saturday, January 22, Ronald took to Twitter to update fans on Erika Jayne’s legal drama. The singer’s latest move is confusing to fans and lawyers alike. Erika Jayne has claimed ownership of the law firm. However, she is not claiming responsibility for what happened.
“Here is a breakdown. @erikajayne is seeking her legal fees from the Estate plus $ damages,” Ronald Richards wrote. “She claims zero responsibility for any of the losses including the $25M she was given which is booked as money she owes the firm, yet she claims ownership of GK. Can’t have it both ways.”
The following day, Ronald returned to Twitter to share more information about the case. Erika Jayne filed a request for the court to give her a jury trial. Since Thomas received a “non-discharge,” there is “no community property left.” This comes amid her former husband’s bankruptcy cases.
Thomas claims that he has no money left to his name. He filed for bankruptcy following the news of their divorce. Erika Jayne filed for divorce on November 3, 2020. Since then, the couple has been in the midst of a lengthy legal battle.
RHOBH star wants Girardi Keese to pay her back
Ideally, this case should work in the favor of the victims. However, Erika Jayne wants Girardi Keese to pay for her damages and legal fees. She wants them to foot the bill for all the money she’s spent on attorneys up to this point. The Pretty Mess author claims they’re responsible for losses she sustains as part of Thomas’ ongoing legal drama.
“This is about the Estate paying her legal fees and any losses. Any creditors that attaches his community property attaches hers,” Ronald Richards tweeted. “The contention she will take the leftovers is a ruse [in my opinion]. She wants an up-front cover for her $25m she received plus [attorney] fees.”
Erika Jayne has been dragged into various lawsuits against her ex-husband. She continues to proclaim her innocence amid this trial. The reality star is also reportedly asking for more money and wants to focus less on her legal drama. It doesn’t look like she’ll get what she wants as producers want to film the latest developments in real-time.
