My 600-Lb. Life: Meet Musa and Ontreon Shannon
Tonight’s episode kicks off with Ontreon Shannon being introduced to viewers. He is a 36-year-old man from Plano, Texas. It is unclear how much he weighs until his first episode with Dr. Now. While he is taking a shower, he explains that he prefers to try to take a shower alone. He, however, always makes sure someone is close by in case he needs assistance. Ontreon Shannon admits he has fallen in the shower before and he does what he can to prevent it from happening.
When he moves to the living room, viewers meet his beautiful wife Musa for the first time. It appears as if she does most of the meal prep. It also appears as if she’s not much of an enabler for her husband’s poor eating habits. Musa shuts down his requests for things like pizza and cheesy rice. She makes a relatively healthy-looking meal that supports his dietary needs per his health issues.
She gets candid about her husband
Musa is clearly a woman that keeps things real. She tells the cameras her husband has pursued diets before. Speaking to Dr. Now, she admits her husband isn’t saying anything she hasn’t heard before. Dr. Now agrees that talk is cheap and what she needs is some action from her husband in the weight loss department. Musa makes it clear pretty early on she doesn’t have a lot of faith in her husband’s weight loss journey. Her lack of faith, however, doesn’t stop her from being incredibly supportive.
She even tells the cameras her husband wants to have a family with her. She admits she would love to get her husband children. But, she needs her husband to lose weight first. Musa does not want to raise a family alone. When the episode ends with Ontreon Shannon weighing more than he did during his first appointment, fans can’t help but wonder if Musa continues to stick around. Does she make the decision to leave her husband behind?
