Matt Roloff Respects Isabel & Jacob’s ‘Smart’ Choices With Mateo
Little People, Big World star Matt Roloff is sharing his thoughts on Jacob and Isabel’s choices for their new son, Mateo. Matt’s son and daughter-in-law just welcomed their first child to the world in December. With his arrival, the parents have had to make many decisions about how they want to raise him.
As we reported, when Isabel was still pregnant, Jacob revealed to fans that they would be keeping their baby boy’s life very private. They did not plan on posting photos that reveal his identity or sharing too many details about him.
As you may know, Jacob was raised on TLC’s Little People, Big World. He appears to have some strong feelings about being on the show for much of his life. This could have influenced his decision to give Mateo a more private life.
So, since Mateo arrived, Jacob and Isabel have only shared a handful of photos of him. In some, they simply show his little feet or hands. In another, he’s wearing a cozy teddy bear suit and his back is to the camera.

Matt Roloff talks about respecting Jacob and Isabel’s decision.
As we reported over the weekend, Matt shared his first photo with his newest grandson. In the photo, he is holding Mateo at his desk. The baby boy is wearing his bear suit again, which makes it easy to hide his face. The proud grandpa smiles as he poses for a picture.
Many fans are loving the new picture and the sweet grandpa-grandson moment. However, some are wondering about Jacob and Isabel’s privacy concerns.
In a comment, one fan brought up the fact that they are “sad that we don’t get to see Mateo.” They feel that they should be able to see the baby because Isabel and Jacob posted “all through the pregnancy.” The fan calls this move “upsetting.” Another fans agrees, writing, “Yes I get it but it’s not our choice to see his face.”
In response, Matt says, “I know. I’ve tried to present some ideas but Jacob and Izzy are very smart and they know what they want for the little guy and I respect that. But he’s soooooo cute I definitely want everyone to see him oneday.”
