Why Isn’t A New Episode Of ‘Yellowstone’ On Tonight?
Sunday is Yellowstone fans’ favorite day of the week, but as you flip your TV on this evening you will be less thrilled about today when you realize a new episode is not on tonight. Why isn’t a new episode of Yellowstone airing tonight? Unfortunately, the answer to this question isn’t going to make you any happier than flipping on your TV and not finding a new episode did.
Fortunately, we do have an answer to this question. And, it is a pretty simple one. So, keep reading if you want to understand why a new episode of Yellowstone didn’t air tonight.
Why isn’t a new episode of Yellowstone on tonight?
The episode of Yellowstone that aired on January 2, 2022, was the last new episode for Season 4. It was the Season Finale. So, the simple answer is a new episode of Yellowstone didn’t air tonight because there isn’t a new episode to air. Fans will have to wait for a new season of the series. Has Season 5 of the series been confirmed? Do we know when we will get more new episodes of the series?
Was it renewed for Season 5?
Yellowstone broke all sorts of records with ratings and viewers this season. So, fans would be shocked if the series hadn’t been renewed for Season 5. As Den of Geek reminds us, Yellowstone has always been extremely consistent with release dates. Season 1, 2, and 3 were released on June 18, June 19, and June 21. A wrench was thrown in the release plans for Season 4 because of COVID-19. So, they were forced to break their very predictable pattern.
The production team, cast, and crew have now had a year to master working around COVID-19 protocols. So, there is no reason to suspect more delays because of the pandemic. While nothing is confirmed, the series has a predicted release window for Season 4 that falls between November of 2022 and January of 2023.
Fans of Yellowstone also have the prequel 1883 to enjoy while they wait for Season 5. A new episode of 1883 does air tonight. After being on a brief break for Christmas and New Year. As we’ve reported several times, many TV networks prefer not to air new episodes during major holidays as they do not wish to compete with the holidays for ratings.
