Was Jax Taylor Fired Or Did He ‘Walk Away’ From ‘Pump Rules’?

Jax Taylor and his wife Brittany Cartwright announced their respective exits from Vanderpump Rules in December 2020. This came six months after the network fired Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Brett Caprioni, and Max Boyens for their past racially insensitive behavior. Around that time, fans were calling for Jax’s firing.

They were tired of seeing the former bartender on their screen. Fans also argued that the network refused to fire him despite his controversial social media posts. All of the heat led Jax and Brittany to make the difficult decision. The couple stepped away from the show that made them both famous.

Still, the timing was questionable. Did the network fire Jax? Or, did he leave on his own volition?

Was he fired from Vanderpump Rules?

On December 4, 2020, Variety reported that Bravo fired Jax Taylor from the show. It all went down when the couple took to Instagram to share the same statement with their fans. Jax and Brittany thanked both Bravo and the show’s production company, Evolution Media, for their time on the show. Shortly thereafter, a spokesperson told Variety that “Jax and Brittany Cartwright will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules.”

The Bravo show was on hiatus due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Restaurants in Los Angeles remained closed due to the surge in cases. Production had to find a way to film the show safely. Variety’s report suggested that Jax and Brittany were the next cast members to get canned after the Bravo firings first took effect in June 2020. It also touched upon fans’ demands on Bravo to fire Jax, especially since he also accused former cast member Faith Stowers of crimes in his tweet.

Bravo fired Stassi and Kristen for their past racist actions against Faith. The first Black cast member revealed that they reported her for a crime she did not commit. She shared her experience on the reality show in an Instagram live chat in June 2020. Her message went viral amid the Black Lives Matter movement, which kicked off the firings.

Does Jax Taylor miss being on the show?

Jax and Brittany teased a return to television in some form. So far, the couple has only popped up in an Amazon Live session gone wrong. The former SUR employee has also been working with Lala Kent’s former fiance Randall Emmett. Jax is embracing his new role of producer, but he hasn’t released any projects in his name.

On Thursday, December 23, 2021, Jax held a Q&A on his Instagram Stories. He decided which questions to answer from his fans. One asked him if he misses being on the show.

“I miss the first couple [of] years… we had a lot of fun,” Jax Taylor responded.

Just because he recently became a dad doesn’t mean he doesn’t miss having fun with his friends and getting paid for it. Another fan asked him if he still watches Pump Rules.
