ABC confirmed Season 26 of The Bachelor would premiere in early 2022. Long before the network confirmed it, a rumor swept the internet that Clayton Echard was the next Bachelor. He was a contestant on Michelle Young’s season.
The news was officially confirmed at the end of November after Echard was sent home from The Bachelorette.
Many fans have questioned the decision, mainly due to Clayton’s lack of screen time during Season 18. Nick Viall was among the critics, implying Clayton Echard was a boring choice.
During a new radio show interview, the Bachelor 26 lead was asked about the dis.

Clayton Echard knows he has a lot of work to do to win over fans. If he didn’t know, it was blatantly obvious when he read mean tweets about himself on After the Final Rose.
The reality star was recently a guest on SiriusXM’s Pop Culture Spotlight with Jessica Shaw. Clayton addressed concerns from fans about his personality. He said that he disagrees that he didn’t show personality on The Bachelorette.
“I thought there were points where my personality came through. I thought the date and all that actually went really well.” – Clayton Echard, Pop Culture Spotlight.
As for Nick Viall’s contention that the network made the wrong choice, Clayton asks the Bachelor Nation alum to give him a chance. Us Weekly reports that Echard was “taken aback” by Viall’s comments. However, he said he doesn’t “harbor resentment” for the criticism. At least, not yet.
Clayton Echard believes that viewers will understand why the network chose him as they get to know him on Season 26. He points out that he’ll have more screen time than he did on Michelle Young’s season.
As for Nick Viall, Echard wants to circle back with him after the season is over. He said on the Sirius XM show, “If he still feels that way towards the end of it, then fair, sure. We’ll have a conversation at that point.”

Clayton Echard has been mum about whether he gets engaged at the end of The Bachelor. He does admit that he found love on the show, but is it lasting love?
Nick Viall didn’t have much luck finding love in the franchise. However, he strongly hinted on New Year’s Eve that there might be an engagement in 2022.
He was first linked to Natalie Joy in 2019 before going Instagram official in 2021. Viall posted photos on his Instagram of the pair dressed up for NYE, writing “Big plans with you this year” in the caption. Many of his followers dropped diamond ring emojis in response to the post.

I think he is a great choice. He is handsome and descent. What’s not to like? Screen time? What does that have to do with it?
He was phony with those kids building a fort he was literally kissing their azzes. I won’t watch this season. We said it when you chose him and now you can deal with lack of ratings.
