  1. Ryan Barkdoll and people like him are the reason I will stop watching this show. What an absolute waste of human life and what an absolute waste of 2 hours of my life. Like Dr. Now I had him pegged from the beginning and knew he would never move to Houston. Enjoy those cheat meals Ryan. Your heart will no doubt explode one day and a piano box casket is in your future.

    1. I also agree. The denial from an outside point of view is so blatantly and tragically obvious . They believe their one day cheating doesn’t influence the SIX days of trying!

    2. Further, he talks about his mom and her boyfriend changing their minds about moving to Houston with Ryan. I’m sure they saw his daily cheats and his excuses and realized he wasn’t serious. Why should they uproot their lives for someone who has so little commitment.

    3. I think like CLIFF, exactly. Some people, like RYAN BARKDOLL, will never stop eating, until death. Very sad, but true, And their family doesn’t help them at all.

  2. I think he didn’t lose one pound and he knws it. He seems to give lots of excuses. His mom tried to help but why uproot here life when he keeps cheating. He is lucky if he lives 2 more years.

  3. I found his story heartbreaking. His father died at 800 lbs. plus, he was a drug addict. His mother allowed the stepfather to be emotionally abusive to Ryan; she never even told him this man wasn’t his father. For some, these betrayals are life changing.
Ryan seemed to emotionally and physically navigate the world searching for love, acceptance and support. That huge “Family” tattoo on his forearm says it all.
The distance from Montana to Houston is a huge obstacle as well. I know that it’s the basis of the show but perhaps a doctor in Oregon could have taken his case. I pray that he will be at peace; he seems like a good person who really needed someone in his corner.

  4. I can tell Ryan would be so Hot if he lost weight. He is such a good looking guy I was really looking forward to seeing him slim down. Ryan if you’re out there please get the help you need. Perhaps the Houston community could get together to help this young man out.

  5. Every time he said that his diet was going so well as he chowed down on his massive chest meals, I internally cringed. You could physically see he hadn’t lost any weight throughout the episode. I hope he got the help that he desperately needs after the episode aired.

  6. I have never heard a potential Dr. Now patient brag as much about himself as this guy did without actually doing any of the work. “I’ll do whatever I have to do to change my life” said Ryan about 9,000 times during the episode, except of course, stop eating. He was truly delusional as well as food addicted. He had so many excuses and his victim mentality was never going to allow him to lose weight. I found him to be one of the more irritating of Dr. Now’s patients.

  7. I think these comments are really unfair. There may be some deeply rooted issues that caused such weight gain and these issues are hard to deal with. They don’t happen overnight. I do find it unfortunate that Ryan did not go through with traveling to Houston. But I tried to imagine myself in his position: mom doesn’t want to move, friend is in critical condition, needs to find housing and a ride to travel all the way to TX, and the actual surgery and losing weight part is the hardest obstacle. I don’t think people understand that if you’re living in “comfort” your entire life for 10+ years, but there’s so many different obstacles in your way, it’s hard to be motivated to overcome these life changing obstacles and move forward. I’m sure Ryan will tackle the weight issue in the future and this episode just opened the door to the steps he needs to take. Everything in the show isn’t exactly rushed, but to the person experiencing this weight loss issue alone, it’s way too fast. I understand he needs more time but I know he’ll do it. He’s experienced other life changing events of equal magnitude in his past and I’m sure he knows how to deal with this as well. Step by step.

  8. I think its ridiculous for him to waste the TLC producers, camera crews and Dr. Now’s time. Understand things can happen but for him to not answer his phone calls from Dr. Now is unacceptable. There are plenty other people who would love to have the opportunity. I also know that having your family’s support is huge and in the end his Mom & Stepfather were not there to see him thru.

  9. What a waste of time this programme was. Too many ridiculous statements from this man baby. Pathetic lying and delusional life.

Am also fascinated watching these programmes to learn that in America you get given disability payments for self inflicted gluttony. So shovelling fat and grease into your mouth is financially rewarding in the US.

  10. He doesn’t have the time! His body will shut down soon and he will die if he doesn’t change his lifestyle IMMEDIATELY. His “cheating days” are unacceptable and he will never lose weight like that. His family should also stop to enable him. Just give him the food allowed from the diet.

  11. I have never been more frustrated with an episode of this show in my life.

He’s sitting at the end and eating the biggest meal I’ve ever seen while also boasting about being in the 500s now…

As someone who has been overweight as well, I understand that food addiction is real, but ffs Ryan… the ignorance in every statement was disgusting…. I can’t believe this guy.

  12. I hated this episode. Ryan has absolutely zero chance of losing any weight. He is the biggest🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣joke I’ve ever seen. He CANNOT be helped

  13. This guy actually made me furious he’s completely delusional. He has zero chance of ever getting better.why he would waste Dr.Now’s time and frankly every body’s time is beyond me.excuse after excuse it was nothing but a poor me marathon

  14. The put Ryan on blast for wasting peoples time and efforts. It’s unfortunate, Dr. Nows time could’ve been used elsewhere saving somebody who was really dedicated to making change.
Ryan you need to stop justifying your poor choices and making excuses. It’s your life that is going to continue to suffer… I really do hope you get the help you need.
