Amber Portwood Failed To Appear In Court, Hit With Massive Bill

Teen Mom star Amber Portwood has to pay over $1,000 in “unpaid homeowner’s association fees” amid her custody battle with her ex-husband, Andrew Glennon. In a new report, the 31-year-old has been hit with a $1,232.50 bill after failing to appear in court over the lawsuit. The default judgment comes from the plaintiff Geist Harbours Property Owners Association.

As fans know, Amber and Andrew have been in a custody battle over their son James. The court last served her back in August over unpaid property assessment fees. At the time, the judgment included the assessment due, attorney fees, charges, and late fees. Now, that bill increased due to her failure to appear in court.

Amber Portwood demands more custody

The exes have been in a bitter battle in court. This latest court filing comes shortly after Andrew alleged that an unidentified person hit their son. He has primary custody of their son. Amber’s ex took to Instagram to share the shocking allegations.

The Sun obtained the latest court documents, which reveal that Amber requested for Amber to be held in contempt of court. He could face a fine or jail time for making the allegations on social media. She is also demanding primary custody of James. Amber calls his allegations “false and defamatory” and argued he made them to “harm Mother and her reputation.”

In February 2021, Amber requested overnight visits with James. Yet, both parties could not reach an agreement in meditation and requested a court hearing on the matter. At the time, Amber asked for primary physical custody of James. However, she feels that she might lose this case.

“Obviously Amber was devastated by the implications,” an insider close to Amber Portwood told The Sun. “She’s scared that because of her past, people might believe it, but there is absolutely zero truth to it.”

Amber made a change to the overnight visitation request with James. She shared that there was a “change in circumstances” that could “warrant” a change to their custody agreement. She also argued that it was in the “best interest” of their son that “the current parenting time be modified to include overnight parenting time.”

Andrew Glennon’s drug claims

Last month, Andrew alleged that Amber abused meth and other drugs while she was pregnant with their son. The 37-year-old demanded that Amber should get a hair follicle test. He alleged that she appeared “paranoid” during their latest custody exchange. In the court papers, Andrew claims that Amber has a “history of substance abuse,” even while she was pregnant.

The MTV star denied the claims. She argued that she has “never failed a drug screen.” In her filing, she argued that she’s on probation for her 2019 domestic violence arrest, in which she’s required to submit monthly drug tests.

“Mother has exercised her parenting time with the parties’ child without any incidents regarding any type of substance abuse,” Amber Portwood wrote in her response.
