Jessica Batten Is Over The Moon To Become A Stepmom To Fiance’s Kids
Jessica Batten definitely had a rough journey on Love Is Blind. She got engaged to Mark Cuevas and left him at the alter, but the drama didn’t end there.
Her attempts to make up with Matt and Amber Barnett at the reunion special blew up in her face. Fans cringed at how it all went down. But things are definitely turning around for the reality star. She finally found her happily ever after!
Her fiance’s name is Dr. Benjamin McGrath. Read on to see how they realized they were meant to be.
Jessica Batten is going to be a stepmom and couldn’t be happier
Us Weekly recently caught up with the happy couple. The publication asked Dr. Ben how he knew she was the one and he immediately had a heart-warming answer.
“When did I know? I’ve got two kids, and just seeing her with the kids just felt like family,” he replied. He’s the father of a 6-year-old daughter named Poppy and a 5-year-old son named Ethan from a previous relationship.
“[They’re] so sweet,” Jessica chimed in. “They love everything and everyone, which made it easy for me. “It’s funny because we all share the same birth week. They bookend me, so we all have this weird kindred spirits thing going on.”
The couple joked that Jessica is actually more like one of the children than a stepmom.
“It’s fun,” the Love Is Blind star continued. “It’s weird [because] doing things for the first time now is really exciting [because] you think about them and they’re experiencing things totally differently. But all the things that I would do like in the closet before, like, drink chocolate milk and watch cartoons in bed all day Saturday — they want to do that! So it’s actually a lot of fun.”
The proposal was sweet and totally unexpected
Love Is Blind fans will be pleased to know that Jessica is on to bigger and better things. It really seems like she’s left the drama in the past. So what exactly did the proposal look like? The couple described the experience in their interview with Us Weekly.
“It was a complete surprise, she had no idea,” Ben admitted. “One day, I was just, like, ‘I’m going to do it, we gotta make this happen.’ … We’d never talked about a ring or anything like that, so I kind of planned it around her dad coming into town, with him kind of facilitating the surprise. And it turned out pretty good, I think we got her pretty good.”
Jessica was so surprised that she recited a line from Suits! But she happily accepted. Jessica confirmed that she does have her wedding dress but she and Ben haven’t made any formal wedding plans yet.
