‘Chrisley Knows Best:’ Who The Heck Is Jay DeMarcus?
When familiar faces like Jay DeMarcus show up on Chrisley Knows Best, fans want to know everything about them. They especially want to know how they know the family. In the case of Jay, he’s been friends with Todd Chrisley for years.
Taking that friendship into their work life, Todd is a producer on Jay’s show which airs on Netflix. DeMarcus Family Rules stars Jay with his wife and two kids. The reason he’s familiar is that he’s in the country group Rascal Flatts.
What Is Jay DeMarcus’s Net Worth?
According to Distractify, Jay DeMarcus has a net worth of sixty million. He joined Rascal Flatts in 1999. Before that, he was a producer first for gospel music and then moving on to bands like Chicago. When Rascal Flatts hit the scene he was well-versed in producing music.
The group put out nine studio albums. While Todd and Jay have reality television in common, they also enjoy playing golf. Todd knows how to run a family reality show, which is why it makes sense he’s producing Jay’s. According to Feeling The Vibe, Allison, Jay’s wife, is a former beauty queen who hosts CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown.
The couple has two children together. DeMarcus said his motto with his children is, “Always give 100% to your kids.” He shared that in common with Todd as well. Todd always takes time for his kids. Jay has a nine-year-old daughter and an eight-year-old son.
Is He Still Touring With Rascal Flatts?
Jay DeMarcus and his bandmates Gary LeVox and Joe Don Rooney were planning a farewell tour in 2020. After two decades together, they decided to break up. LeVox planned for a solo career with a more Christian fan base. The farewell tour like a lot of things got canceled due to Covid and there weren’t any plans to bring it back.
The first season of his show, which is set up a lot like Chrisley Knows Best with family antics and an interview-style set up between adventures had good ratings. Fans thought the family was hilarious and some think it should be renewed. There hasn’t been any news from Netflix if the show is canceled or renewed.
When asked why they decided to do the reality show, he said Todd had a lot to do with that. He said they were out to dinner and Todd said his family was funny and unpredictable. He thought others would relate to them. At first, Jay didn’t want to do it and let cameras into their home. Finally, according to The NY Post, he said he hopes people get a good laugh after a crap year.
