There’s some good news, Dancing With The Stars fans! After being out of the ballroom for two weeks, pro dancer Cheryl Burke will be back to compete in person. Hopefully, Cody Rigsby will be able to join her.

“I have been officially cleared. I am back to normal. No more quarantine for me,” the two-time Mirrorball Trophy winner announced on her Instagram page. “Unfortunately, Cody is still in quarantine, but he will be back in Los Angeles starting Friday — this Friday — which means we can technically dance on both Monday and Tuesday.”

Cheryl Burke commits to rehearsal — even if she and Cody can’t meet in person right now

So what does their rehearsal schedule look like? It’s going to be pretty hard to earn high marks from the judges if Cheryl and Cody never get a chance to rehearse in person.

“We’re still rehearsing via Zoom as we speak,” Cheryl continued. “We’ve got two dances. … You will see us both back in the ballroom Monday and Tuesday night. I’m so excited. We’ve got lots of work to do.”

They’re definitely a little behind their competitors. While the other remaining contestants have time to bond with their partners and get stronger in the rehearsal room, Cody and Cheryl are playing catch-up. They haven’t seen each other in person for a few weeks now. That’s bound to hurt their performing ability at least a little.

The pair is definitely trailing a bit behind the other competitors now

During the October 4 episode, Cheryl and Cody earned an 18 out of 30 points — much lower than many of the other contestants. Unfortunately, many of the judges said that it was mostly because they just couldn’t perform in person.

Cheryl and Cody did compete virtually, but it just lacked the star power that in-person performances carry.

“Look, the scores are the scores. It would have been nice — I could have accepted the sixes if they could have at least acknowledged what was done, what was being done here, you know,” the 37-year-old pro admitted to Us Weekly. “There was no, like, ‘Oh, my God, you were not just dancers.’ It was just a lot. And then not knowing if we were dancing until [last] Thursday, you know … it is what it is.”

Many fans are relieved that the two can still compete. Many DWTS fans earnestly believed that positive COVID-19 tests would result in their elimination. But fan votes kept them in. But Cheryl and Cody will really need to bring the action if they want to stay in another week.

Tune into Dancing With The Stars this week to watch all your favorite competitors hit the floor. Hopefully, we’ll see Cheryl Burke and Cody Rigsby back in all their glory. Stay tuned for more news!
