WWE Summerslam: Match Card and Predictions

Universal Title: Roman Reigns (c) vs “The Demon” Finn Balor
In recent weeks, Finn Balor has been pushing for a shot at Roman Reigns and the WWE Universal Championship. Despite Balor holding his own, Reigns has been preoccupied previously with John Cena and more recently Brock Lesnar. Two weeks ago on Friday Night Smackdown, Reigns defeated Balor with the help of the Usos. Just one week later, Balor returned in his Demon gear to take the feud to the next level. While Balor is a star, Reigns’ reign is expected to continue as he’s booked against Brock Lesnar next month in Saudi Arabia.
PREDICTION: Roman Reigns

US Title: Damian Priest (c) vs. Sheamus
Damian Priest shined at Wrestlemania teaming with Bad Bunny in their win against The Miz and John Morrison. Since then, Priest has been in a feud with Sheamus for the US Title, winning the championship last month at Summerslam. With Priest carrying momentum in recent months, expect him to keep it rolling with a win at Extreme Rules.
PREDICTION: Damian Priest

A Potential Title Change

WWE Raw Women’s Title: Charlotte (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
Charlotte surprised many last month after winning the WWE Raw Women’s Title with a win over Nikki A.S.H. Nikki had previously won the title by cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase before Charlotte regained the title. Since then, Alexa Bliss has been playing mind games with the champion leading up to WWE Extreme Rules. Bliss has been gaining in popularity, including being a top merchandise seller, so expected a title switch at the PPV.
PREDICTION: Alexa Bliss

WWE Smackdown Women’s Title: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Bianca Belair
At WWE Summerslam, Becky Lynch returned as a surprise opponent against Bianca Beliar, replacing the injured Sasha Banks. In less than 30 seconds, Lynch shocked the WWE Universe by defeating Belair and ending her reign in the process. In the weeks since Summerslam, Lynch has walked with an attitude, much to the chagrin of the WWE Universe. With Lynch only recently winning the title, her current run should be expected to continue with a likely controversial win over Belair.
PREDICTION: Becky Lynch

WWE Extreme Rules: The Bloodline

WWE Smackdown Tag Team Titles: The Usos (c) vs The Street Profits
The best storyline in the WWE is the Bloodline, anchored by Roman Reigns. Behind Reigns are his cousins and tag team champions, Jey and Jimmy Uso. The Uso’s top rivals at the moment are The Street Profits, a solid young tag team that impresses most with the aerial attack from Montez Ford. The Street Profits are an exciting team with an upside, but it’s not the right time to crack the Bloodline.
PREDICTION: The Usos
