The deckhand couldn’t believe how lucky he was this season. His boss was Malia White, who was welcoming and accepting. During a crew night out, Lloyd shared with his fellow crew members that he’s not exactly straight. His crew members said that they accepted him and loved him no matter what and he felt overwhelmed by the support.
Lloyd Spencer was harassed and bullied
On this season of Below Deck Mediterranean, Lloyd shared his experience with his previous boss. He shared the details with his crewmates. He revealed that his boss would harass and bully him because of his sexuality. Lloyd shared more details in an interview with E! News last month. His views of the yachting industry were “quite negative” after that moment.
“It didn’t just equal it out, it completely smashed my previous experiences out from my memory almost,” Lloyd explained. “They’re still there, but I don’t know the right words to say. I came out of it with such a confidence boost and such a positive view on possibly going forward into the yachting industry.”
