WWE Raw 8/23: 5 Must-See Moments, Full Results
In the shadows of Summerslam, WWE Raw took its first steps towards the Extreme Rules PPV next month. Former NXT Champion Karrion Kross was in action against Ricochet. New tag team champion Riddle, with Randy Orton by his side, took on AJ Styles in the main event. On Moist TV, the segment delivered the breakup many had been waiting for, all while Charlotte appeared to have found her first challenger. Here are 5 Must-See moments from this week’s Monday Night Raw.
WWE Raw: 5 Must-See Moments
The Miz and John Morrison end their friendship
On the latest episode of “Moist TV,” John Morrison welcomed YouTube star and boxer Logan Paul. Paul was there to promote his brother’s upcoming boxing match which resulted in The Miz coming down to the ring. The Miz mocked Paul in the process, causing Morrison to get in his face. After Paul made his way to the back, Xavier Woods came to the ring to squirt Morrison and Miz with the Drip Stick. In anger, The Miz turned on his best friend and beat Morrison down in the process.
Randy Orton and Riddle continue their momentum
At WWE Summerslam 2021, the unlikely duo of Randy Orton and Riddle defeated AJ Styles and Omos for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Prior to the match, Riddle gifted Orton a scooter before Styles and Omos hit the ring to end the party. In the main event, Styles and Riddle went one on one and despite interference from Omos, the Bro was able to get the win after Bro-Derek.
A new opportunity
Karrion Kross squash
Over the last month, fans have been outspoken over the questionable booking of Karrion Kross. Kross had previously split time on Raw and NXT, but after losing the NXT Title at TakeOver 36, he was an official member of the Red brand. Karrion Kross made his way down to the ring in a Viking helmet and oversized straps, turning into a meme on the internet in the process. Kross got an easy win over Ricochet but quickly became the butt of a joke to the WWE Universe.
Alexa Bliss confronts Charlotte
Just 24 hours removed from regaining the WWE Women’s Title, Charlotte made her way down to the ringside. The Queen claimed to be retaking her thrown in the WWE and making a promise to restore order to the women’s division. After gloating about her accomplishments, Alexa Bliss’ music hit, and with her stuffed doll Lilly by her side, she simply told the champion “hi.” Only time will tell what is next, but the WWE Universe is on notice.
Tag Team action
After Bobby Lashley defeated Bill Goldberg at Summerslam, he kicked off WWE Raw with MVP by his side. With MVP and Lashley running Goldberg’s name into the ground, Damon Priest hit the ring to challenge the WWE Champion. The match between them was quickly ended after interference from Sheamus and later Drew McIntrye who would make the save. Following a commercial break, Lashley and Sheamus took on Priest and McIntyre in a tag match and seemed to have the upper hand. However, Lashley refused to keep his end of the bargain and walked out on Sheamus allowing Priest and McIntyre to get the win.
